We stayed at the Grand Ani for two nights as part of a 15 day tour of Eastern Turkey. While the breakfast was varied the room was ok but the service is lacking. In particular the elevator did not work most of the time and there was no sign telling us this, the card key expired many times and there... More

The hotel is somewhat cramped and dingy. The motion sensitive lighting in the stair well is annoying and possibly dangerous as the CF lamps take some time to reach an adequate brightness. The restaurant served some reasonable but overcooked lamb chops and some palatable local red wine but unfortunately was a smoking area. My room was very cramped with a... More

The Grand Ani is a 6-storey hotel with a modern facade. There is a lift but it is way too small. Parking is possible in the one-way street in front of the house. The downtown of Kars can easily be reached on foot. Because of the one-way system, access to the hotel by car is somewhat cumbersome. The welcome at... More

Hotel is the most famous around. But compared to price it does not deserve the reputation; To me the hotel is 20 years behind from today. Rooms are a sort of fusty, but worst is public spaces. Smoking is allowed at the restaurant and non-smoking rooms are not non-smoked. It is difficult to navigate between two blocks of the hotel... More

We were traveling by campervan through north eastern Turkey and this is not easy as there are few campsites and we wanted to visit Ani. As we had slept at petrol stations and hadn't had a shower in several days we decided to treat ourselves to 2 nights in a good hotel. Having had a wonderful couple of nights at... More

A really strange hotel that technically should have been luxurious, but really nothing 'grand' about this place. The room itself was ok, good size, hard beds and clean sheets. But the bathroom was broken, shower cabin flooded the floor, with no plug control device and black grout all round the bath-tub. The breakfast was poor, looked like lots on offer,... More

Hotel is close to the center. But Kars beeing small all hotel are in the center. This Hotel is 500m from the... More

We stayed at Grand Hotel Ani for 2 days in late October, after having travelled other areas of Eastern Anatolia, and were very pleased to find a higher-standard accommodation. + The foyer is elegant and "grand hotel"-style. The room we were given was huge: there was a very large bedroom and a separate small "living room" area with flat screen... More

A big effort was made by staff to keep us happy through various traumas such as power cuts for several hours, and a lost bag of photo lenses which was returned by police to the hotel where it was kept safely for us. The manager spoke English and although the restaurant and reception staff didn't, they tried very hard to... More
