We stayed here for two nights so we could visit Ani. I'm not sure how many of the rooms have been renovated - but we had one on the 2nd floor. The renovated room had a lovely bathroom. The shower would have been even better if the hot water service was reliable. But we had to keep testing the 'hot'... More

Stayed one night in a rather small room with twin beds, was glad it was only me - doubt two people could have copped. Even so was clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom had recently been updated and I was glad to see a stand alone shower instead of the shower over the bath that many Turkish hotels... More

This hotel is located outside of downtown but within walking distance of it and local sites. The hotel was newly renovated was clean and had twin beds and was still being renovated while I stayed there. There was no AC but did have heat. Breakfast was just OK

I do not know where to start but... 1) As a young couple, I made the reservation for 1dbl room but they gave us 1 twn (two separated beds) room... When I complained about this; front office told me this is what they have and I'm free to go to another hotel. It was around 9p.m. 2) Toilet flush tank... More

The hotel is dated and tired and the room was very small. It was cold that night and the room was also cold. But there was an additional blanket in the closet. I'm not sure there are many of hotels to chose from in this town. We stayed there as part of a small travel group. It was okay because... More

A lot of things have changed since Diana Darke passed here in the 50's, and even since I passed there for the 1rst time in 1986. Besides a wonderful, beautiful and expensive boutique hotel I'm afraid that Sim-Er will be your best choice in this remote town in the north east of Anatolia. The hotel has been renovated during the... More

We have stayed during january 2014 with a group of friend. Our observation was as follows: -we stayed 4 days and did not hear any greeting from the staff -the hotel is so dirty you cannot stay in the restaurant more than 5 minutes -rooms are smelling -no social facility -serious security issues we noticed that the stairs were occupied... Okay, I agree with the "cosseted Westerners" review, BUT the room was just plain nasty. Dirty drapes and tobacco smoke had penetrated every fiber, even to the carpet and upholstery. The out to the corridor had a large and conspicuously greasy handprint. The towels were not replaced, just refolded (even though they were clearly soiled). The trash was not emptied.... More

Unfortunately there is not much to chose from in Kars as far as hotels. Rooms were quite cramped, and the decor was underwhelming. The breakfast buffet was one of the most limited during our month-long trip through Turkey.

You need places like this. It helps you more fully appreciate the others. Your choices in Kars are limited. Our group tour spent little time (2 nights) at the hotel. We came to see the area historic sites. The breakfast buffet had a limited selection but plenty. The WiFi connection was disappointing.
