This is a lovely refurbished Ottoman house with an understated and peaceful feel to it, in the beautiful "old town" district of Safranbolu. The breakfasts were simple but lovely; our room was clean and spacious (good shower, no TV). The service from the owner is pleasant but relatively hands-off. Given the age of the building there is no sound-proofing, so... More

This is one of the most authentic hotels I've been to. A 200 year-old Ottoman mansion with inside being as true to its epoque as the outside. Personnel is really hospitable and the owner is charming. The location within Safranbolu is superb, a bit away from the fuzz of the village center

The owner of the Gülevi hotel is an architect and this is clearly reflected in the way that he has renovated the 200 year old buildings, keeping the full authentic value whilst adding modern comforts. The bedroom was spacious and I could find many original features from the Ottoman period. The ornaments and decoration are just perfect, simple and sophisticated. Each... More

This is an extremely well run hotel made from 3 old Ottoman houses. It is comfortable as well as being completely authentic. The owners and staff are helpful and welcoming. It is an opportunity for a rare and rich experience.

great location; amazing rooms and common spaces; staff very profesional. Every single corner is decorated following the Otoman style. Very good to go with kids. It has a garden with sofas to relax while the kids are playing in a safe yard

I stayed in Gulevi Hotel for a three-week business trip. I was worried about my decision before coming and I wasn't sure if I would find the comfort I was looking for. Because of my job, I travel a lot and spend half of the year in hotels. That's why, maintaining a quality standard is important for me because I... More

I am a bit conflicted as to whether or not I should give this hotel 3 or 5 stars. I have chosen 3, which I still think is generous, but I will get into that later. First off, the hotel is absolutely amazing. Being an old Ottoman mansion, you could certainly feel the history of the architecture and the amazing... More

Dear Sir, Thank you for reviewing GüleviSafranbolu. When we read your review, we recognized some misunderstandings at your side and my cause also misunderstanding at readers side by your wordings. First of all, we hardly understand how you had the feeling that the three mansions of our hotel have been assigned for females, males and couples, separately. When you were... More

This hotel was definitely one of a kind. It's definitely a 3 star hotel but I don't think it's worth the $$. It's definitely old, one of a kind, quaint yet creepy and probably haunted. The staff will go out of their way to tell you that it is not but I definitely felt the heebie jeebies as soon as... More
