I stayed in Gulevi Hotel for a three-week business trip. I was worried about my decision before coming and I wasn't sure if I would find the comfort I was looking for. Because of my job, I travel a lot and spend half of the year in hotels. That's why, maintaining a quality standard is important for me because I... More

I am a bit conflicted as to whether or not I should give this hotel 3 or 5 stars. I have chosen 3, which I still think is generous, but I will get into that later. First off, the hotel is absolutely amazing. Being an old Ottoman mansion, you could certainly feel the history of the architecture and the amazing... More

Dear Sir, Thank you for reviewing GüleviSafranbolu. When we read your review, we recognized some misunderstandings at your side and my cause also misunderstanding at readers side by your wordings. First of all, we hardly understand how you had the feeling that the three mansions of our hotel have been assigned for females, males and couples, separately. When you were... More

This hotel was definitely one of a kind. It's definitely a 3 star hotel but I don't think it's worth the $$. It's definitely old, one of a kind, quaint yet creepy and probably haunted. The staff will go out of their way to tell you that it is not but I definitely felt the heebie jeebies as soon as... More

Dear Madam, Thank you for reviewing GüleviSafranbolu. I am not only writing this reply as one of the partners but also as an award winner restorer / architect (Turkish Chamber of Architects 2006 Best Restoration Award) who is fully responsible of the revitalization of Gülevi’s 3 mansions all from 18th century. You had stayed in the master bedroom and Selamlık... More

So glad we stayed here for our night in Safranbolu. The gentleman on duty when we arrived did not speak English but checked us in and showed us to our room with a smile. The hotel encompasses three 200-year-old Ottoman buildings which are in beautiful condition. Our bathroom was in a retrofitted cupboard which was very unique. Breakfast was terrific:... More

Definitely there are not many hotels like this in other towns, a real Ottoman house converted int a boutique hotel. You might find other Konak in Safranbolu at a lower cost but maybe not with so much charm and details. The breakfast is a as nice as other people comment. The only but I would have was the bathroom temperature.... More

This nice authentic hotel is located in the best spot with really nice individually furnished room. Very friendly staff that are doing all they can to make you feel welcome. Have a look at the bar, where you just pick the bottle from the shelf and leave the tap from the bottle neck.

This hotel is nothing spectacular, but it has a certain charm to it. It was definitely what I expected for this part of Turkey - more traditional than a shiny, new, American-style hotel. The breakfast was simple but very good and fresh. The best thing about the hotel was the owner/manager. He was both friendly and helpful. He chatted with... More

It is a classic ancient building turned into a hotel. It may not be deluxe but absolutely clean and quiet and classic. The wooden decoration with all those old style furniture. It is like going back at time machine. Breakfast is excellent by the way. You will be greet by the staff fluent in english. However, we are lucky to... More

We absolutely loved everything about this boutique hotel: convenient and quiet location, old yet clean room filled with personal touches, modern washroom, lovely and spacious garden & canape, nice and cozy breakfast area (and the food itself was superb also), and the staffs were helpful, friendly, and courteous. We would especially like to express our sincere gratitude to Mr. İbrahim... More

The hotel is in an ancient ottoman style house, but the interior design is modern and confortable. There is a very nice courtyard with huge canapé, which is perfect for a little break in the afternoon. The location is very convenient and close to the center of town. If the breakfast could start earlier (8am instead of 9am), it would... More
