I would firstly recommend reading the review submitted by Tedstravelblogs just below - it virtually mirrors everything I would say. His review of the bathroom facility is correct, though I am a little more forgiving perhaps than that - I resign myself to a certain amount of compromise when staying in these converted places. In a similar vein, some of... More

I stayed in Gulevi Safranbolu for two nights from 22 Sep 2015 during my trip in Safrabolu. It is located in the old town and takes one-minute walk to the town centre. The hotel is an authentic Ottoman Mansion, with traditional decoration and fittings. It made me feel that I was back in the Ottoman era when I stepped into... More

A Safranbolu stay is an immersion experience of village life during the Ottoman Empire. UNESCO World Heritage listing has ensured that the town remains locked into a centuries-old past that is both fascinating and arduous. The ankle-torturing rough-cobbled streets are just one of the hardships which also extend to some aspects of these lodgings. Gulevi’s buildings are centuries-old Ottoman mansions... More

We drove to Safranbolu one late afternoon and stopped in at the Gulevi to see about room availability. We got a room facing the street and yes it was a bit noisy at times, but not enough to keep us awake. The service was top notch--we even got the voucher for a golf cart tour around the town. Free parking... More

The location is right in the middle of the town. Every place of interest is within close walking distance. The house is a historical building itself, renovated and added with furnitures and equipment for a comfortable stay. It is worth staying for the night for the experience. Lovely garden and good breakfast. The wifi is not stable.

If we were to return to Safranbolu, I would rush to get a reservation! The rooms had a very authentic Ottoman style, designed and furnished with a a skilful hand. The staff was outstanding, friendly, always extremely helpful, they seem to like to work here. A very relaxing hotel with fantastic atmosphere, hat's off for Ibrahim, Gül and Hasan and... More

Although the hotel is only 5min away from the places of interest, restaurants and shops, we had a restful night without much disturbance. The building is restored from a true ottoman house built with wood and stone more than 200 years ago. Our room room was big and comfortable, with a modern King-size bed, modern bathroom and antique-looking wardrobe. Looking... More

I love the room ,the style of design and the breakfast. Everything is so nice. The manager Hasan was very helpful. I also had an opportunity to talk with the owner and designer of the hotel, he is so lettered in history. Everything there will be in my memory forever.

Safranbolu is off the beaten track for most tourists but this fascinating town is one of the few remaining places to not only see authentic Ottoman era houses but the chance to stay in one as well. The Gulevi Safranbolu is a collection of 3 historic houses around a welcoming and quirky green garden courtyard. The accommodation is very tastefully... More

1、Money stolen from the hotel room, no response from owner despite calls and email. 2、We were received by non-English speaking staff, who failed to show us around. 3、Only non-English speaking staff were around, who did not understand our needs, nor did they turn to the English speaking manager. In fact they did not even mention such a person exists in... More
