Tucked away in a quiet side road is this delightful small hotel. The rooms are comfortable with balconies, fridge, ensuite shower, air-conditioning and excellent ceiling fans. Yakup the proprietor is amazingly helpful in planning visits to surrounding places especially archeological sites. It is a very short walk to the promenade and beach for a pre-breakfast swim. Brekfast is excellent and... More

Its in the municipality (sort of a state) of Mersin - its actually in Kizkalesi which is about an hour west of the city of Mersin - believe us - we drove it twice since we first drove to Mersin and had to retrace our steps!! Once we did arrive, the area around the hotel seems to be rather sketchy.... More

My husband and I stayed here for 3 days in September, outside of peak time. We arrived after long bus trip and I had Istanbul belly... Not well. Jacob the owner was so friendly and recommended his lentil soup, which was wonderful. Great breakfasts in the garden. Hubby loved the cooked omelets. Rooms are basic but functional and reasonably priced,... More

We stayed at the Yaka Hotel for three nights and loved it. Yakup and his staff were so helpful and friendly. The Hotel is spotless and we felt very comfortable. Yakup also arranged emergency dental treatment (for an abscessed tooth - nasty) for me in Mersin with his dentist friend ... on a Saturday! We'd like to come back.

My husband and I, we really had a great 10 day vacation at Yaka, and we enjoyed the warm and discreet hospitality of the hotel owner and the staff, the splendid garden and the outstandingly tasty and diversified meals. We benefited from precious indications about the many and extremely interesting historical sites and ruines in the area, which brought value... More

I agree that this hotel could be better in some respects but the personality andwarm care of its owner Jacob changes your attitude. It feels like you are in a small B&B reflecting the presonality of the family who ownes it. Another difference from the bland hotels surrounding it is its nice garden where you feel nice even with stifling... More

Good location near the beach with the stunning castles. The Manager is a great bloke who really looks after his customers. With his help, we found some good sites to visit especially the archeological sites in the area. The hotel is actually in Kizkalesi.

The Yaka Hotel in Kiz Kalesi (east of Mersin on the Turkish Med) is a good option for families wanting a simple beach holiday away from the crowds. It's a 2 Star so the rooms are pretty basic, but it really doesn't matter because you;re not there to spend time in your room. They have hot water and AC which... More
