We were two women, alone, travelling in a less touristic area of Turkey...but a very interesting one. This hotel was clean and staff were friendly and helpful, though not many of them spoke English...the breakfast was plentiful, but they seemed taken aback that I wanted milk for my tea in the morning. But because I couldn't recall the Turkish word... More

The staff were friendly, but did not speak English at all. A good location, but the parking is just on the street. The food served at breakfast was usually good (with minor exceptions). There were many issues in the bathroom - low water pressure, temporal lack of hot water, toilet flush was not working at all, tobacco odor

Originally i wanted to stay two nights. In the end I stayed four nights. A very good hotel downtown with clean rooms, air conditioning, own bath and helpful staff for the best price in town. And Omar was a really good guide and friend. It was really a pleasure to spent my time with him in Diyarbakir. He is really... More

Finally clean budget hotel in Turkey with spacious rooms, flat screen tv, ac, towels and sheets smelling with flowers. All this for 30 tl per person. great value for money. small minus for no breakfast and squat toilet. but all in all great option for accomodatiom in diyarbakir

The last reviewer was spot on. Otel Surkent is so clean and very good value. Super friendly reception staff but struggling to meet anyone in diyabakir who doesn't win Ms/ Mr friendly award 2014. We took a day tour with Omer and found it extremely worthwhile. Diyabakir has a maze of colourful backstreets some of which are raucously great fun... More

If you can put up with lot of pink the Surkent is a clean and comfortable budget style option with plenty of hot water. We had a room on the third floor at the back which was nice and quiet and the steep stairs up and down kept us fit. We didn't take the breakfast so paid 60TL a night... More

Hotel Surkent is a very good option for everyone who wants to discover Diyarbakir and surroundings: not only because it is clean, familiar and cheap, (with free wifi and colored rooms), or for its central position, but above all for the staff. None of them speaks english, but they are somehow capable to understand your needs. A particular help came... More

Hotel Surkent is certainly a very fine adress to stay in town, not just because it is clean, comfortable and cheap (double: 60 TL) as well as centrally located, but especially also because Omar is working together informally with the hotel, a very friendly person who can show you - for very reasonable price - around the city (very recommendable,... Don't let the wild color scheme deter you--hot pink walls and bright orange curtains are a bit shocking, but this place is a budget-travel steal. For just 30TL a person you get a clean room, a clean, private bathroom, nice and hospitable staff, friendly travelers, and a central location. There's also good wifi, an air conditioning unit (which we didn't... More

It is a lovely place as a budget hotel with wifi, tv, bathroom inside, and even air conditional(which works well, means i can stay here in summer also) in such a place during my whole trip. The room was very clean. 35TL for a single, u might barging until 30 i guess. Diyarbakir is a nice city, not as its... More
