Our trip to Cappadocia was rendered even more magical by the incredible welcome offered by Suha and his staff at the Esbelli Evi cave hotel in Urgup. Nothing was too much trouble for them ...it happened to be our wedding anniversary on the day of our arrival and we were graciously upgraded to a fabulous suite with PC and widescreen... more

I found Esbelli while doing some planning for my trip to Cappadocia, and after reading some stellar reviews in Frommers and the NYT, and of course all the reviews here, I knew that this was going to be the place I stayed. I knew I had made the right decision from the start, when Suha provided such great advice for... more

Owner Suha designed and built this hotel starting with the cliff caves and building outward. Our room had 2 bedrooms connected by a passage with a skylight. Our windows opened to view roses, geraniums, and petunias thriving in their planters in late October. Manager Ramazan took care of our car rental and any possible need we had. They will arrange... more

There is not much I can add to previous reviews, except to say I agree with all the superlatives others have written about Esbelli. We stayed two nights in this troglodyte hotel in mid-November 2008. It is hard to believe that a “cave” could be so comfortable – so light and bright and warm. Warm is the best adjective to... more

We stayed in 4 different hotels in Istanbul, Cappadocia and Sirince, near Ephesus and this one was hands down the best and the coolest place. This may be difficult, but imagine lying in a cave, because you are, under a high arched ceiling, in a king size bed (not two twin beds pushed together) with clean crisp linens and comfy... more

There is a place in Urgup, Cappadocia, Turkey that reflects the best in hotels. This is a cave hotel with an unpretentious exterior, but once you enter, wow! The staff is excellent. They are helpful, speak great English, patient, & accommodating. The owner is laidback, charming, & also very helpful. He is also very visible. This hotel is by far... more

We arrived on an early flight from Izmir and were warmly welcomed by the staff and offered a complimentary breakfast on the terrace as well as our choice of room. Although this was one of the more expensive of our accommodation choices in Turkey it was by far the best value. The rooms etc were excellent but it was the... more

You won't be disappointed. I can't add much to all of the previous reviews, except to say that the pictures don't do it justice. more

What more can we say about this cave hotel that has not already been mentioned? Excellent location ,even the walk uphill from town is great exercise. The staff are quietly attentive, looking after your every need. Very comfortable brass beds, absolutely fresh, fluffy and clean linen every day. Dove soap and shampoo in bathroom. Wonderful views, magnificent food. Stunning breakfasts.... more

Esbelli Evi was a fantastic hotel (although it feels more like a home). We can not say enough about the people at Esbelli Evi - they helped us arrange everything we did in the Cappadocia area, helping us arrange fantastic experiences at reasonable prices. In any experience we had at the hotel everyone was exceedingly nice and made us feel... more
