We could see upon our arrival that the Attaman was once a grand hotel. When we were there, there we not many guests, We asked for a Cave room and got a hot room that was constructed at the top of the hotel. Management were willing to change our room, but all of the other rooms were small and we... more

This hotel was fantastic - our favorite one in Turkey. The cave rooms are huge and unique, with the bed in a little niche carved into the stone. The view was amazing. Dinner and breakfast were included, though dinner was a bit unremarkable. All in all, a fantantasic place to stay!! more

The Ataman Hotel in Goreme was one of the best hotels I stayed at during a month of driving around western Turkey, yet it hardly seems to get mentioned in guidebooks (it's not in Lonely Planet, for example).
