I had a wonderful greeting at the lobby. Staff were helpful, all the way smiling. They gave me a perfect room at an early check in. However the breakfast hall and the presentation were catastrophic. Too many chairs and tables were blocking the way to the buffet. Buffet was not neat. The tablecloths were stained. I think they need more... More

Overall I thought this place was better than I expected given the previous reviews. Location is excellent with lovely views from many rooms. Buffet in the restaurant was also quite good. We were on a group tour so have no idea about price/value for money. Room was what I would call a good three star standard. We were in the... More

Misery! Only for turks coming from the deep of Anatolia lots of such LARGE groups. for four days window and balcony door wide open day and night to get rid of the Cigarette and carpet stink. The stingiest breeakfast or dinner in Turkey! First night salty ready made chicken pancakes, second the tiniest chicken legs and the third half chicken... More

We spent one night here last week as part of a tour. Out of 3 hotels we stayed in in Turkey, this was the only one we had issues with. The first room I was given was occupied, so I had to trudge back down in the only elevator (small and rickety) with luggage to get a different room. Our... More

Located on the sea front near the ferry landing with views of the Dardanelles, we had a spacious room with a balcony, which had beautiful views of the sea. The breakfast buffet was more than adequate with many choices.

Akol is run-down and the deferred maintenance and upkeep really shows. Which is ashamed because it is located right on the waterfront of the Marmara Straight and it could be such a nice place to stay. The outside is dated and with paint falling off of the stucco walls. Inside is equally dated with old furniture from the 80s. The... More

The hotel has a long history. The room was adequate in size and the heating from the typical radiators worked well. The room and bathroom were clean and the meals wholesome. The location was excellent as it was on the main road opposite the sea. The promenade along the seafront provided for a wonderful evening walk and to see the... More

The Akol Hotel is in a great location right on the waterfront, which makes it a great place to wander from. We stayed after a day of exploring Gallipoli before heading to Troy the next day. The rooms were run down, and the hotel overall felt a bit dated and awkward. That being said, we actually slept really well (jet... More

We enjoyed the Akol just fine. After a day in Troy, its waterfront location was perfect - even in the off season. It's an easy walk to see the replica Trojan horse and to try out the bars in town. There was a rooftop bar at the hotel serving flaming drinks that kept us amused for a while as well.... More
