We were visiting the Star Wars sites and couldn't resist staying one night underground. The rooms are quite basic and the bathroom is shared, but they have a good bar and the wifi in the lobby is good. Meals are decent but basic, making overall value good.

I've given this a 'very good' because of the 'unusualness' of the place. If you like camping, then you'll be fine here. We shared a two double bed 'cave' with our son and that is what you get! It's all clean - well, in as much as a whitewashed cave can be clean. The shared showerroom/loos were clean - if... More

An amazing experience. The rooms and facilities were basic but the people were so friendly and generous. Our children, 17years and 11 years thought the whole experience was fantastic. The surrounding town was beautiful - amazing sunsets!

This cave hotel is very basic. The large rooms are not very clean. The blankets looked as though they hadn’t been washed for months. The light switch was not close to the bed so you definitely need a torch. The one power socket in the room had bare wires and did not look safe to use. It was not easy... More

Loved this place. It's just great to sleep in such a special place with such a special history. Before, whole families would dig a hole and make rooms under the ground and lived there together. Bed was fine, but I wasn't expecting a high quality matress anyway. They even provided blankets so I didn't had to use my sleepingbag. Didn't... More

If you aren't venturing further south, the Hotel Marhala is your best bet! The "Star Wars hotel" is within walking distance so you can visit it easily while staying at the Marhala. (We not only saw the set section of the other hotel, but walked around the entire property and it was not at nice as the Marhala.) The Marhala... More

I spent one night at the hotel with a couple of friends. I'd managed to book it the night before by email (using my very rusty school-girl French), and received a very prompt reply. We couldn't have asked for a better welcome, and the place is incredible - a series of interconnected holes in the ground with cave-like rooms cut... More

"Troglodyte" cave hotel: Novel style of accommodation and friendly but extremely basic, old linen too small for the prehistoric mattresses and pillow. Bare bulb & one power outlet in room, none close to the bed. No heating/cooling as the rooms maintain a constant temperature of about 22 deg C, but felt chilly on a cold morning. One of the rooms... It is a basic hotel... as a troglodyte hotel should be! It is nice, clean, Staff is OK (expecially Mohamed!) and we always go there year after year. Dinner is OK, rooms and blankets are clean, and bathrooms too, in absolute terms but even more if you consider african / tunisian standards. There is free wi-fi, a guardian in the... More

The hotel is very good looking outside. But the room is just cave with beds, nothing else(since i am not expecting ,it is not bad as well.). If I were the owner, i will make it cleaner and add some basic decoration...but I am not...one more bad thing is there are not enough hot water during my stay...so around 19:00,... More
