Having read the reviews on the Dar Hayet before going (and having already booked) I was full of dread of what I was letting us in for. However, I am happy to report that our experience was a pleasant one and have no regrets about our choice of hotel. On arrival we were greeted by a very pleasant young man... more

The hotel has a fantastic location - beachfront and 5 minutes walk to the medina along the beach. We booked half board a sea view room and we were pleased with the aspect of the room. The room was clean and our maid did a good job every day. A cuple of negative points: no fridge in the room and... more

Arrrived about 6.30 pm to a pretty unfriendly woman on reception. She asked if we would like to upgrade our room to a seaview room, we declined and after checking in was shown to our room where the air conditioning unit did not work so changed rooms to find that the garden view room had no balcony and a view... more

Plenty of staff but seem not to be able to see what needed doing, but were very friendly. Place was filthy particularly the pool area. Only one restaurant open and no choice for dinner. All linen was an awful grey colour and unsurprisingly we contracted Campylobacter food poisoning. We moved out after 4 days we were booked for 2 weeks.... more

Just returned from this hotel / holiday stay, roughly 20 minutes ago and want to write a review, whilst everything is still fresh. My partner and I booked a last minute break through icelolly.com with GLOBAL. We had booked our stay in the Dar Hayet Hotel. My partner and I both read reviews for Dar Hayet and other hotels before... more

Oh dear. My husband and I have just come back from "Dar Hayet" and we were most disappointed. Although most of the staff were friendly, they could not make up for how dirty the pool was. Nor could they make the air conditioning in our bedroom work properly either. There is no air condiotioning in the communal areas of the... more

My wife and I stayed at Dar Hayat for two weeks in August 2009. We SERIOUSLY wish we hadn't, it was worse than awful. This is definitely a three star hotel, forget the four stars. It used to be a house and whilst it does have some charm, such as the guy Faisal in the Cafe Maure with his hubbley... more

I've just come back from Dar Hayat where my boyfriend and i stayed for 2 weeks. We had quite a few problems - all of which could've been avoided and most of which wouldn't have been expected from a 4* hotel. On our arrival we were shown to a room with a tiny window and no balcony and also no... more

Booked a cheap last minute package deal and we were very pleasantly surprised. The Dar Hayet has simply THE best location in the whole area. Quiet, convenient and pretty; the hotel is based around a large and rather grand traditional Tunisian house and located right on the beach with a private area directly in front. Five minutes walk along the... more

Despite having read some bad reviews, we went anyway and were favourably impressed. It is a very nice simple hotel, with great staff and it is on a beautiful beach. Large rooms with everything you need. Food was very good.Excellent value for money. more
