Having booked this holiday since oct 09 we thought by going into 5* hotel it would be the bees knees, how wrong could anybody be, the staff were few and far between and none of them knew what they were doing, reception was just the same and management, no entertainment, had to move rooms as it stunk of sewage, everytime... more

Luxurios building and nice territory, I really injoyed SPA - 5* A bit far from Hammamet, but overall location is good - 4* Rooms are spacious, but slightly shabby, balconies are small but cosy - 4* Cleanliness - awful (the floor in my room wasn't cleaned all 7 nights) - 2* Dinner - poor, breakfest - terrible - 2* Staff... more

We came as a couple and our expectations were not too high considering what we had paid for the hotel in March this year on a bed and breakfast basis. We arrived late and the hotel seemed fine for a 5 star. However, once we had booked into our room the hotel was certainly not a 5 star. It was... more

We have just returned from the Taj Sultan and from waiting at the airport over 1/2 and hour after making numerous phone calls and assured there would be someone there in 5 minutes we were dissappointed. Hammermet is tired and run down and the hotel is a reflection of this ... Most places were closed in town adn everyone had... more

We visited the hotel on April 2009 with my wife and 2 children The hotel is tired and clearly has not been maintained adequately in the last few years. The Tunisian Tourist office rates it as 5 starts hotel but to be fair, Thomas Cook sold it to us as 4 star. It is defiantly not 5 stars and would... more

My husband, our friends and me stayed at this hotel as members of a group (unfortunately). If you are not used to be member of a group, avoid it (avoid Hammamet as a matter of fact!!). The hotel is nice, rooms are spacious, breakfast is very rich (they served us breakfast at 3.00 a.m.!! because we had an early flight)... more

The breakfast open buffet SUCKS. i have never tasted a low quality food like that, you can only eat fruits. Housekeeping service do not pass by your room reguralry. i spent two days without housekeeping visit, i had to call them... more

The hotel appeared good arriving in the dark as did the resort, different story in the morning. The rooms within the Taj Sultan were clean and tidy, although decoration was straight from the 1980’s with floral patterns on walls, bedspreads and curtains. Not a European 5* hotel by any means more like a 2 or 3*. The towels were also... more

I travelled to this hotel with a friend and my family in 2007. I wasn't expecting much more than a nice apartment and the hot sun, but to be honest i was stunned by the sheer beauty of the hotel...walking through an archway to look up and see an enormous golden/white ceiling stretching all the way up to the top... more
