We had just 3 days to spend in the 1000 Islands - stayed at this wonderful B&B, very happy with our choice! Sam made us comfortable from the start, and did a wonderful job with unique breakfasts each day. She also had great recommendations for things to do and "must see" items while we were there. Would definitely recommend!

Our two night stay at the Captain Visger House was phenomenal. Sam made our stay by providing wonder breakfast, great directions, and a tremendous strategy how to use our limited time wisely. I had the best oatmeal ever. Everything is fresh from the almond milk that Sam makes to the roasted pumpkin seeds and herbs that she grows. Wow what... More

We agree with all the positives mentioned in other reviews here. We've stayed in many B&Bs and Sam is one of the most effective proprietors we've ever encountered. The whole stay was characterized by calm and comfort, and by lavish, fresh and delicious breakfasts (we were hardly hungry for lunch before mid-afternoon; these were the best meals we ate in... More

The Thousand Islands Region is "HOME" to me... many happy memories of my mom's hometown of Ogdensburg NY on the St. Lawrence. Visiting the area on our yearly trip for northern pike fishing in Clayton, we decided to stay at Captain Visger House (5 of us, including 11 yr. old grandson). I love old houses (built in 1850s), and this... More

We enjoyed our stay at the Captain Visger House Bed and Breakfast this past summer. It is a beautiful, old Victorian home, yet quite comfortable. The owner is friendly and helpful, and serves a delicious and quite extensive breakfast. We stayed three nights and the owner, Sam, was very informative about the best tours of the Thousand Islands, places to... More

We have stayed in many bed and breakfasts and this one will rank as one of the best. The owner is gracious and very welcoming. Captain Visger is located within walking distance of the St Lawrence Seaway and the boat ride to Boldt Castle. While we always appreciate a clean, nicely decorated room, the food here was the highlight of... More

We never stay at B&B's but based on the reviews of this place we decided to give it a try. What an amazing experience! The house is beautiful but not intimidating--it quickly felt like home. Of course Sam had a lot to do with that. She is warm, welcoming, engaging, and filled with spunk! And boy can that girl cook!!... More

We stayed 2 nights at this B&B to celebrated our 24th anniversary. Although it wasn't directly on the St. Lawrence River, just a short walk down the street is a scenic park on the river, where I took a number of pictures of the many small islands. The house was very comfortable & clean. The innkeeper, Sam, was very inviting... More

We stayed at this B & B for four nights earlier this month. I booked online, based on previous Trip Advisor reviews. The house has been lovingly restored, with great attention to detail. Every room is beautiful, and very clean. But, it was Sam, the innkeeper, who stole our hearts. She is candid, honest, funny, sincere, outspoken and we now... More

As a B&B owner myself, I enjoy staying at other b and b’s when I travel. I expect them to vary widely in design and décor but my standards are high when it comes to cleanliness and service. Our stay at Captain Visger’s was a delightful experience on all accounts. The house itself has been beautifully restored. Our room, Harmonious,... More
