My husband and I have become addicted to the new restaurant, "The Kitchen", at The Captain Visger House. Currently lunch is being served Wednesday - Sunday and on Thursday, July 30TH, Chef Andrew Worley and his staff begin serving dinner Thursday - Monday. Each menu item we have experienced thus far has been a beautifully presented culinary delight. Peggy and... More

Best B&B ever for us! Exceptional food, relaxing atmosphere, great location not to mention a wonderful Staff! Forget hotels and try this facility. You will come back! The Village is a resort area in a spectacularly beautiful area adjacent to the Saint Lawrence river separating the USA and Canada. Be sure to take the "Two Nation Tour" at Uncle Sam's... More

Our stay at the Captain Visger B&B for a weekend in July was very enjoyable. There were some small issues but nothing that would impact our rating. The house is very conveniently located and if you so choose, you can walk to the restaurants and shops in town. The breakfasts were superb and you will not go hungry. The main... More

My boyfriend and I had THE most amazing time here. This was our first time staying at a B & B, and let me tell you, Sam, the owner, has been such a fantastic host, an innovative chef, and her hospitality is superb! Not only is she amazing, but she ensured we would have a secure place to park the... More

This was my first visit to Alex Bay and also my first stay at a Bed & Breakfast. Wow, what a wonderful experience! Sam, the owner and host, made us feel at home immediately upon arrival and got us settled in right away. We stayed two nights in the Captain's Suite, and it did not disappoint: a beautifully appointed large... More

Based on the rave reviews from this site we booked two nights to celebrate our 20 year wedding anniversary and we were not disappointed! We stayed in Ella and it was comfortable and lovely. We loved the tv and Roku option as we like to binge watch our favorite tv shows on Netflix when we can. Sam is a warm,... More

The following review truly represents the experience that we have had time and again at Captian Visger House in Alexandria Bay NY. first off, I read the review from TammyMarie36, and failed to understand her disappointed comments. My partner and I have stayed at Captian Visger House several times, we can't wait to go back! Sam the owner makes us... More

My husband and I had a lovely 2 night stay at the Captain Visger House. The location was excellent, within walking distance to many main attractions in Alex Bay. I was 38 weeks pregnant with our second child and Sam was very accommodating to anything we needed. The rooms were clean and comfortable but the breakfasts were by far our... More

After spending seven weeks in a chain hotel in Toronto, when Sam asked what we would like for breakfast two things came to mind - some berries would be great, oh, and a poached egg as all we've had is scrambled. Little did we realise we would be settling down to a full on chef's taster menu! First course, berries... More

Sam, the owner, turns the “80/20 rule” on its head. The 80/20 rule says, “80% of results come from 20% of efforts.” That idea---also known as the “Pareto Principle”-- is invoked by consultants to encourage you forget about 80% of your efforts. SAM SEES IT ANOTHER WAY. She aims for the extra 20% results and achieves perfection. Stay here. There... More
