Stayed 2 nights Nov 3&4. Enjoyed our time tremendously. Sam is dedicated professional with a sincere interest in people and their stories, so she is an engaging host. In addition, she is a phenomenal cook who provides gourmet breakfasts. We will return.

We stayed two nights at the Captain Visger House during our trip around Lake Ontario and enjoyed our stay very much. The owner, Sam, was very friendly and she served a fantastic breakfast, even accommodating our needs making gluten free servings. The rooms were provided with individual heating / cooling units so the temperature could be set for personal comfort.... More

My husband and I stayed at Captain Visger House while visiting our Daughter and Son in Law stationed at Ft Drum. The location was perfect, right in downtown and within walking distance to everything. The Captain's Suite is the absolute best with plenty of room for lounging, yes it is worth the price difference. We stayed in Harmonious for one... More

The 1000 Islands area was a new experience for my husband and me. We had traveled through New York on our way home from Montreal several years ago and always wanted to return and spend some time there.......boy are we glad we did! We stayed for a week at the Captain Visger House and loved it. The B&B is on... More

We stayed here for 2 nights based on the Trip Advisor reviews. We have stayed at many B&Bs around the world and found this to be sorely lacking. We paid a high seasonal rate of $196 a night, which was way overpriced for this place. We found the common area and room to be very dated... Not in a quaint... More

Our external world mirrors our internal world. We see ourselves in others. All of my guests are amazing people! I am sorry for not being here to greet you properly. Occasionally I try to create a life beyond the walls of the House, it is difficult as guest arrival can be from early in the day until very late in... More

This was the second stop on the mystery trip for us, my sister and brother-in-law and my in-laws who are in their 80's. This was a gift for my in-laws and they had absolutely no idea where they were going or what they were doing. They loved it! The rooms are beautiful and because my in-laws are elderly, they were... After years of traveling over the Thousand Islands Bridge to visit family in Ottawa, my husband and I decided we'd make a pit stop to Alexandria Bay on our way home from a summer visit. I looked at all the possible places to stay and chose Captain Visger House. The decision was a good one! The staff here are warm... More

If you want something different than the standard motel/hotel room which you will pay for in this tourist area, why not try this delightful b&b???? Sam has gone out of her way to provide that Victorian atmosphere where every room is a collection of unusual objects and "kitch" which high-lighted this gilded age. There were 3 couples so we spent... More

You have to stop buy the Kitchen at the Capt. Visger House in the Bay. We have had 4 or 5 people stop by and eat and when they came back to our Inn, they were greatly satisfied. They mentioned the food, and most importantly the Service. Tehy all commented about the service from Meghan.(With a "H"}

My wife and I came here for a weekend escape. We expected a simple B & B with maybe a muffin for breakfast and eat at the local restaurants. We got a lot more. The first morning breakfast was possibly the best I have ever had. The "Farm to Tablle" freshness was apparent in every bite. After the breakfast we... More
