I recently spent a few days in Udon Thani, in Northeast Thailand. Chose the Irish Clock because of it's central location and reasonable price. I usually stay in 3-4 star hotels but in smaller towns Often look for a small guesthouse. It's a family business run by an Englishman and his Thai wife, who often manages the " front of... More

We'll this guesthouse is great, I've eaten here a few times before but never stayed here, so I decided to book ten nights here, what a lovely place the rooms are nice, big comfy beds excellent bathroom and the food is spot on. The only downsides are is the wifi on the 3rd isn't very stable and I did reserve a... More

At the end of January I stayed for three nights at the Irish Clock and was very happy with my choice. My non-smoking room was at the back and my sleep was never disturbed by noise. The room was large, and although a little rustic, it was comfortable and very well maintained. My room had a safe and the bed... More

Living here in Udon Thani I probably am as well or better qualified that people who make short visits. Suffice to say it is my 'local' as such - nice pint of draught Heineken with my usual meal of fish and chips with salad (oh and I sometimes have a jacket potato with it!) 145 baht and 170 baht respectively...so... Good large rooms ,safe, internet and the best western food menu i have seen (proper black pudding )with a large full english served all day, "cracking" and one of the few places to sell cider . they even arranged scooter hire from across the road at £3 a day . This is in a great central location and in short... More

What a fantastic place to stay, there are only 7 rooms above the pub and they are huge and very comfortably set out. The rooms facing the street are nicely decorated and have a lovely comfortable chair with a footstool, the bed is like sleeping in luxury, there is plenty of storage for suitcases etc and the bathroom is also very... I been staying at the Irish clock for years. Previous and New owners are great! Great location to walk around central Udon Thani. Bars everywhere and only 10 minute walk from central plaza shopping center. Rooms are nice and big. Aircon as cold as you want. Bathrooms are nice and clean. Bed is very comfortable. Each stay that I been... More

The location is good, the rooms are very large. My complaints are this: long, long waits for hot water and internet cuts in and out all day long. For me, paying this price in Udon Thani, things should be better. Or alternatively cheaper. It's better than most guest houses, but not 300-400 baht better. Food in the restaurant was good.

My sister and I have stayed here several times while visiting my father who resided in Udon Thani but sadly my father passed away in Jan 2014. Out of 5 siblings, 4 stayed at the Irish Clock to attended my fathers funeral. This sad time was made incredibly easier with the assistance, friendly service, understanding and compassion provided by the... More

The check in was a bit weird as its a small family run hotel, mainly popular for its restaurant so when I arrived at 7pm, the restaurant was full and I basically just stood there waiting to be checked in. The rooms are old with 20 year old tv's but it is 2.5 star so no false advertisement there. The... More
