The Irish Clock bar and guesthouse is in Soi Sampanthamit, a few minutes walk from Udon Thani's regal looking Central Plaza Shopping Mall. The 'Clock's' anchors Fred and Som guarantee you a warm welcome and their menu is wide-ranging and reasonably priced. The bar is the most well-known one in the city among expats and is bang in the heart... More

Very nice guesthouse / restaurant / bar. The rooms are clean and spacious. Owners and staff are very friendly and helpfull. The food is excellent, typical pubfood. Location is good, near pubs and bars, 400m from the night markets. Over the years I have stayed there countless times and it is still a pleasure to go there.

Stayed here for a night en route to Laos and enjoyed it so much we stayed again on the return journey! The proprietor and staff were all very friendly and welcoming and very helpful too in guiding us to our next destination. The rooms are enormous and very clean and tidy; the shower in particular was very nice! The location... More

Stayed here two nights in August on the way to and from Laos. The staff were very helpful, did my laundry quickly and booked me a taxi to Ban Chiang. The rooms are big and clean. The wifi is OK and I appreciate the personal safes in every room. Oh, the location is primo! Two-minute walk to lots of restaurants... More

The room is surprisingly big! Ideal location also as it is near the mall and walking distance to the night market. The owners are nice and helpful. A very nice place with very reasonable price. They just need to perhaps renovate the toilet and shower room a little as it is quite aged.

I recently spent a few days in Udon Thani, in Northeast Thailand. Chose the Irish Clock because of it's central location and reasonable price. I usually stay in 3-4 star hotels but in smaller towns Often look for a small guesthouse. It's a family business run by an Englishman and his Thai wife, who often manages the " front of... More

At the end of January I stayed for three nights at the Irish Clock and was very happy with my choice. My non-smoking room was at the back and my sleep was never disturbed by noise. The room was large, and although a little rustic, it was comfortable and very well maintained. My room had a safe and the bed... More

Living here in Udon Thani I probably am as well or better qualified that people who make short visits. Suffice to say it is my 'local' as such - nice pint of draught Heineken with my usual meal of fish and chips with salad (oh and I sometimes have a jacket potato with it!) 145 baht and 170 baht respectively...so...
