many reviewers have commented on the great service , idyllic beach, great food etc which we agree with. it might be helpful to note a couple of negatives. its a very hilly site and you rely on buggies to drive you around. you end up spending most of your time on the compound because the neighbourhodd is a bit tatty.... Despite so many new Aman resorts opening in the past 15 years, the Amenpuri still represents the essence of the Amenresorts in terms of its architecture. The effortlessness and laid-back culture are only unique to the Amens and are not found in other resorts. However, the room here are less impressive than the newer Amens.

We stayed Amanpuri in December 2011 for a long weekend and I would say this is the least impressive Aman resorts of the region in term of services. However the property is really nice and hit Aman standard. Great sport facilities with impressive fitness center, 2 tennis courts, a fully equipped beach club with lovely kids pool and small football... More

After Chiang Mai we spent 4 days at the Amanpuri . I've been hearing about this resort since the mid-90s so i was looking forward to a life changing experience. It was nice but not really life changing . The resort is very "hilly" so walking around is very challenging . Our villa was a garden villa but still overlooking... More

Quite simply described as perfection from the main property to the minimal details. The food was fabulous from Wagyu to homemade stracciatella ice cream to Thai pancakes by the pool at 16:00 everyday. The rooms were gorgeous - good exercise climbing up to some of them! This is one of the places in the world to which we would love... More

The villas, the people, the spa, the pool, the sand, the FOOD. Overall just one of the best properties in our lifetimes and as true AMAN resort lovers, our goal is to try each and everyone. This was our first some years ago and since we have become 'Aman heads'. A divine experience to which one will not soon forget... More

There is no way we could have improved on our visit. Thank you Amanpuri for such an amazing stay! Our room was wonderful, private and perfect. Anything we wanted appeared and so we just relaxed. All meals were so good and servings were plentiful. The quality and ingredients were amazing.

Once a year I try to come back to Phuket for a weekend visit and am loyal to Amanpuri, first Aman property built. I have tried others in the area but keeping returning to this hotel. The architecture by Ed Tuttle has now aged into elegance with a patina of age. Despite it being over 20 years old, it has... More

This was the first Aman property and it's still just as lovely as it was when we first arrived in Phuket 20 years ago. We left our cruise ship and traveled about an hour to reach Amanpuri before lunch. We wanted to see what had changed since our first visit. There is no sign of aging, one can see that... More

We were invited to spend Christmas at the beautiful Amanpuri on Phuket island. The location, facilities and ambient are really breath taking. Service is amazing. It can get a bit crowded on the private beach, but in general the place is very relaxing. No need to mention that all of this comes a price....
