Ban Raya is not a 4 or 5 star resort but what it is is unique. Set in a coconut plantation it has a wonderful atmosphere with walking paths throughout the resort. This is a place if you like the quiet. If you need to be entertained then this is not the place, as there isn't a lot to do... More

This is a small island about 45 min ride by speed boat to Racha Island from Chalong Bay. Ban raya resort is nice but bring a lot of books and an iPad. Staff is semi friendly some good some not so good but I guess that's the case any where you go. Room is clean and ac from 6pm to... More

Travelled from Phuket Island to Ban Raya half hour speed boat ride, then short trip via tractor to the resort. Booking in staff spoke little English and showed very few smiles, generally a lack of interest in us. Booked a superior room, basic but comfortable. Infinity pool with amazing views and very peaceful. The resort beach was small and stoney... More

We booked to stay here over Christmas for a bit of luxury. We flew down to Phuket from Bangkok and got a cab to Chalong Pier but as there is only one boat to Koh Raya in the morning we hired a private longtail boat to take us over there which was 3500 THB. Was paradise when we arrived, golden... More

We stayed here three nights. We booked a Deluxe Bungalow. The island is quite wild so you would not expect a state-of-the-art bungalow. Ours was quite far from the lobby area, however there are no rooms or bungalows on the beach. The hotel is somehow on a small hill topping a very small beach which can be considered the "hotel... We spent 5 days here and found Ban Raya Resort an ideal place for our snorkeling holiday. 4 snorkeling bays are within walking distance. Kon Kare Bay is right at the resort doorstep. Getting off to sea was a bit difficult as the beach is stony. But once in the sea you'll be amazed by the crystal clear water and... More

Def expensive wrt normal Thailand, but worth it in terms of exclusivity, privacy, tranquility, and kind-hearted service. The room rates are normal for CDN standards, I guess, high for Thai. The entire island seemed to have a premium on it. The lowest-priced food items cost 120 baht, even at inland restaurants; so Ban Raya’s rates aren’t out of line. The... More

Comparing this place with the uber sterile and westernised Racha resort close by, Ban Raya is lovely! Not overpriced at all if booked with their website. We loved the food and the fact that you can explore the island on your own renting a bike or moped or walking. The seaside at Patok beach is beautiful! and nearby Kon Kare... More

The Island of Raya itself is very nice, compared for example with Koh lipe. It has a fabulous beach and many less boats on the beach itself than other islands. The beach was one of the best on our Thailand trip, but you have to walk there from Ban Raya for 15 minutes, which can get a little bit hot... More

Great bungalows, nice small pool area. Wonderful resort with a small, but very inhabited coral reef just outside the tiny little resort beach, with a nice little bar on it. Diving trips come here for the reef, and as a visitor to Ban Raya you only have to take two steps into the water and you are on top of... More
