Stayed at the Mercure Patong for our 1st week of our 3 week honeymoon. Also stayed at Phi Phi Island Village and Buri Rasa Koh Samui (read my reviews). As it was my first holiday to Thailand and my wifes first time out of Australia I was expecting it to be a lot like Bali (travelled there 7 times before... More

First time travellers to Phuket,Thailand. There was an initial mix-up in that we had booked a family room accommodation and arrived to find that accommodation was over-booked and no family rooms were available. So we ended up with a double room for the same price :-( Apart from that we enjoyed the motel, the restaurant was great and the pool/bar was... More

I stayed at the Mercure with my Husband, and as far as romantic holidays go, it wasn't the best choice. It is a nice little place to stay, but not the type of hotel you want to laze around in if you're tired of being in the busy streets of Patong. The pool was very very crowded, and because the... Stayed here in April 2009, upon arrival we were greeted by the friendly staff. Room was modern, large enough for both of us, smelt fresh and was most of all clean. We were in pool view room, price was great, breakfast each day was HUGE, evening meals werent amazing but far from terrible. Im a fussy bloke but 25 years... More

Well, as the title says, I have mixed feelings about the Mercure. We travelled as a family and also met up with 3 other families who arrived at various times during our 12 night stay. We were there over Songkran/ Easter/ Australian school holidays and my big problem with the Mercure was the overcrowding in the pool/around the pool. The... More

We arrived at the Mercure after a 2 and 1/2 drive from Krabi. The hotel itself is not bad but nothing special to rave on about either. After reading the positive reviews on here, we were quite disappointed on our overall stay. The lobby and check in was ok, but again, nothing special nor did we receive the happy thai... More

Honestly, after reading all the reviews on this site, our stay was spot on with what I expected. Don't expect 5 star, but no one on this site ever pretends that it is. It is reasonably priced, fairly new, modern, clean, well located and reasonably quiet all things considered. Here are the positives: Well located. Easy walk to the Otop... More

we stayed at the mecure for 8 nights travelling with 4 others, apart from a small gliche with pre booked rooms, we got the top floor which i would recommend as reading previous complaints about noise, we all agreed that apart from the odd door bang, we all slept well. the location is great if you like good restaurants close... We stayed 11 days at the Mercure Patong. Staff were very friendly, they went to a lot of trouble to develop theme nights for dinner, which was pricey. The "Poo Restaurant" over the road is very basic, but the food was just great and cheap, we ate there at least 4 nights. Breakfast was included in our package and I... More

If i could recommend anywhere in Thailand, it would absolutely not be Patong, unless you are under 25, want heavy drinking and don't mind being ripped off everywhere you go. There are some beautiful places in Phuket but this isn't one of them, which is a real shame because the people in Patong are lovely and despite being offered a... More
