I stayed at The Expat Hotel for 12 days in March and had an excellent time! The hotel is located on an unnamed Soi off Rat-U-Thit Road, just steps from Bangla Rd. and a short walk to the beach. The location is perfect; close enough to everything so you can walk and avoid the Tuk Tuk’s, but far enough back... More

Stayed for 2 weeks at the Expat hotel with a friend. Location is perfect in a silent and quiet soi (street) just 2 minutes from Bangla road and all the nightlife. Still very quiet and the buzzing nightlife was heard from the hotel. It's a very friendly atmosphere around the pool and in the hotel bar. The breakfast and dinner... More

The Expat is a small 46-room low-rise hotel situated at the end of a long (unnamed) soi off Rath-u-Thit Road. The entry to the soi is immediately adjacent the Taipan Nightclub just north of the Rath-u-thit intersection with Bangla. The Expat describes itself as a budget hotel and “a quiet and tranquil oasis right in the heart of the pulsating... More

Booked two rooms, stayed 3 nights with a group of friends (3guys & 3girls) few days ago. Room size is OK for 3 person in each room, bed a little hard but clean enough, no amenities in bathroom but there's hot shower. A small pool but the water is milky. Quiet location with a min walk to the nightlife, shopping... More

I stayed there June 2009 for two weeks and have only good things to say about it. This hotel is ideal for single guys, groups of guys and mongerers in general. Very guest friendly. Guests have to leave ID at reception for security. This is not the hotel for you if you are looking for 5 star luxury as the... More

If you stay here you should ask yourself whats your purpose of your Patong trip. If you here with your girlfriend/boyfriend/family I strongly recommend DON´T stay here. At Expat 80% stay with purpose to bring home thailady from Bangla Road, and everyting is OK with that from Hotel Management. There are thailadys everywhere, even in daytime,in pool etc etc So... My wife and I have been staying at the Expat Hotel for 20 years on and off (even when it was in Soi Bangla) and we still do (even although we now live in Phuket). It saddens me somewhat to hear that other guests of the hotel have been dissatisfied when we and the vast majority have been very happy... More

I stayed at the hotel in July 2008 and it was soon clear the owners were a member of the local hash. The restaurant was on many occassions full of hash members who took priority over the customers. On one Thursday night they had the local hash AGM there. The restaurant, bar and pool area were full of local expats.... More

Expat Hotel is the "headquarters" of the Phuket Hash House Harriers, which is a running club with thousands of local chapters all over the world. The members run first and afterwards they party. Activities which actually take place inside the hotel are limited to registration on a few days of the month for an hour or so and two or... More
