This was a OK hotel. I stayed at 7 hotels in Patong beach and most were better. Location is very good. Far enough from Bangla street to be quiet, yet only a short 5 minute walk to Bangla. Staff was not so friendly. Breakfast buffet was average. Food taste was OK at best. Selection was small. Coffee was only OK.... More

Great location right in the heart of Patong but this does mean there is noise coming from everywhere - from the road, from the rooms, from the construction next door etc. The pool is pretty good - put up umbrellas yourself during the day (they're behind the bar) because the day-time sunlight can be baking. The pina coladas are absolutely... More

Stayed at the Amata for 13 nights in October. Had a room in the new Wing on the 8th floor, a bit close to the main road. The room was very nice and the bathroom modern. The breakfast was ok but a bit unsafe with windows open close to the buffet and the food not hot enough. The pool was... More

Stayed at Amata for 7 nights in October. Reception and Porters very helpful. Breakfast is about 5 out of 10. Make sure you get a room in the new wing. Good size rooms in both sections by old part a bit smelly. Overall enjoyed my stay and the pool very refreshing

Rooms were well equipped with air con, wifi and space for my friend and I. The hallway was a bit noisy with guests disregarding other patrons. Plenty of food options around and walking distance to the beach and shopping centre.

We stayed here as a family (2 adults, 2 teenagers and 2 children) and loved it in a family room and one other hotel room. The location and pool was great. The main reason we loved this hotel so much was the family room they had. We couldn't have asked for a better size. We often find accommodation difficult to... More

fanatastic hotel, near the action but quiet, short walk to bangla rd, shopping centre, beach and markets, was greated by wonderful staff with a welcome drink, although there are two pool only used the main pool, did not use the rooftop pool, the food in the restaurant for breakfast is delicious, and they will cook your eggs to your liking.,... My girlfriend and I stayed for 7 nights in Feb 2013. We had a room in the new building (level 3 or 4). I cannot comment much on the old building as we only went into this area to go to reception and for the breakfast in the morning, the ground level is well maintained and clean. The new building... If you wanna be right in the middle of where all the action is, this is the place to be! Otherwise, an average property. All the major amenities are available, if you can explain to the staff what do you want! :-) English isn't spoken beyond the lobby floor!

Our family is used to staying in hotels in the 4-5-star category - ie. Katathani, Holiday Inn, Burasari, Kee Resort and Patong Merlin but chose this budget option to save money on accommodation so we had more money to spend on other things like activities/tours and transport (transport has become expensive in Phuket). So, it's not surprising that when we... More
