Have to say that this is the best hotel we stayed at during our tour. The resort is very well set out in a manner that will make you explore. Food and service in the restaurant very good and they have positioned the 'Sunset bar' in a great place. Would definitely stay here again as it is so tranquil and... More

This was our second visit to Fern and can't find fault. It's home away from home in the rice paddies. Fantastic warm and friendly staff make a for a relaxed stay. Rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable, especially good after an invigorating (exhausting) trek. Love the food! Best Gaeng Hang Lae in the North. Try the salad of eggplant... More

The place is beautiful and charming, with little wood villas in the middle of trees and rice plantations, very green atmosphere. The food is nothing exceptional but was very good nevertheless. Prices are good. The resort is far from the city center but they have a free shuttle service that takes you there in 5-10 minutes so that didn't bother... More

Beautiful, friendly resort with welcoming funny dogs, set amid big old trees, paddi fields, cascade. A resort done with criteria. Better reach with your own transport, because some 10 km from MHS. Room bungalow very spacious, quiet, and very clean. Bathroom excellent. Wi-Fi in restaurant. Seems to cater to package tours. People leave early morning for full day and we... More

This resort provides you with lots of private space considering it is some distance from the city. You can expect to see natural streams and padi fields all around the resort which is pretty refreshing. An interesting experience we had was with the dog, we planned to go for the resort recommended hike and we were pleasantly surprised to find... More

If you like 5 star resorts, perfectly personality-less service, no dogs or bugs or perfectly groomed grounds then this place is NOT for you so book elsewhere. For someone like me, this place was heaven. To sit by the lovely pool and eat at the restaurant with a lovely friendly dog at your feet (under your chair), beautiful, friendly, helpful... More

This resort is rather for nature loving travellers and not for guests addicted to luxury. You will experience the jungle with all its sounds and beauty. The room is clean, the bathroom basic, the restaurant and the food good with quite a large choice. Nice swimming pool with clean water. Having a happy hour drink at the bar overlooking the... More

The resort is "eco" which I suppose covers lots of issues which wouldn't be tolerated otherwise. The rooms are ok. We lost electricity for a few hours but the hotel tried to make it right by moving us to a room which still had power. I was bothered by water bugs. There was a tea kettle and tea but nothing... We were spoiled by our luxury boutiques in Chiang Mai, so when we arrived here we were a little taken back by the "outdoorsyness" of the room. We had heard it was the best hotel you could get in Mae Hong Son, and if Brad and Angelina stayed there, it must not be too bad! The hotel property itself is... More

Our only mistake was to spend just one night there. But already planning to return. Idyllic and calm hotel (in the off-season anyway!) surrounded by jungle and a working rice plantation. Peace and quiet and great staff. You can even sleep where Angelina and Brad slept - they've visited three times. But don't get the idea from that that it's... More
