We were spoiled by our luxury boutiques in Chiang Mai, so when we arrived here we were a little taken back by the "outdoorsyness" of the room. We had heard it was the best hotel you could get in Mae Hong Son, and if Brad and Angelina stayed there, it must not be too bad! The hotel property itself is... More

Our only mistake was to spend just one night there. But already planning to return. Idyllic and calm hotel (in the off-season anyway!) surrounded by jungle and a working rice plantation. Peace and quiet and great staff. You can even sleep where Angelina and Brad slept - they've visited three times. But don't get the idea from that that it's... More

We only had one day to spend here and there was a monsoon happening so I can't really say what it would be like at a different time. The rooms are rustic and clean and comfortable.the staff is wonderful, they make a conscious decision to hire hill tribe people and train them. The people are very appreciative and are hard... More

We loved our stay at the Fern Resort and wished we had a few nights more there. It is in a relaxing, tranquil setting ideal for a getaway for those who want to be within a natural environment with a little luxury! This is the second time we had stayed here in this beautiful little location. The rooms are always lovely and the atmosphere is divine. One of the highlights is that this resort is 100 percent Thai owned and operated with financial support having been provided by the government to support eco tourism in the local area. The dogs will happily... More

What a beautiful sacred place, for me this place has helped to bring me back into mother earths arms, safe secure and surrounded by beautiful staff, JAA, made us feel so loved, I felt blessed to have dogs around me always, especially the old white boy who kept me company day and night. The only thing I would like to... More

Extremely relieved to arrive at this refreshing and tranquil resort after a big day on the road. We knew instantly as we approached the entrance 'this is the one for us'. Finding the right accommodation even after hours of reading other's reviews is still just a lucky dip as we've found out during our second visit to north Thailand. So... More

We stayed a week in this gorgeous place. Good room, good service, fantasic location and grounds. It is out of town so if you want to be in town then dont stay here. At night all you will hear is the wildlife. There is a shuttle bus into town so we never had a problem getting around. And you will... More

Truly exceptional. Forget « luxury hotels » and « trained » staff. This is a community hotel (karens) of a very high level (genuine relations, sense of service). Rooms (huts) surround a rice paddy (you can participate at planting season), they are starting coffee and you can pick bananas from the trees. All the building in natural materials have dried... We have recently returned from a month travelling around Thailand. My husband and I are 58 so wanted some degree of comfort but with the thrill of being in the jungle. Trailfinders suggested Fern Resort for one of our stops. It was truly amazing. We stayed in the hut previously occupied by Brad and Angelina so it was hard to... More
