We stayed at Pong Phen for really only one reason - the food. The menu included apple pie and mash potato and after over a month of travel thats all we wanted. We were also able to choose a film every night. Aside from this Pong Phen was a fairly average stay. There was a pool - which tasted oddly... more

Stayed at PP for a long weekend. We were looking for a low budget place with a pool and were really happy with what we found at Pong Phen. Staff are very helpful. Room was clean, basic but had all you need. Hard bed with just a top cover like most places I've seen in Thailand. We were delighted by... more

We wanted a low priced place with a pool and this fitted the bill. When we arrived we were told that there were no bungalows left so thought it was full. But double rooms in the main building were free. costing £19.00 per room for B &B. The rooms were very clean. the beds firm, as all beds in Thailand.... more

We LOVED The Pong Phen Guesthouse!! This little place is an absolute delight!! The staff were wonderful and would do anything for you, Jan spoke the best English we encountered while we were... more

A great guesthouse. Rooms: spacious and clean. Nice pool. Great litle cafe / bar with good, affordable food (both Thai and western) , nightly bigscreen tv DVDs. Excellent quiet, but central location, and booking facilities for nearby attractions. Really excellent staff - helpful and friendly. We all loved it (family of 5; kids 13, 11 and 8) Very reasonably priced.... more

okay for what you pay, and a good location, but prepare yourself for very, very basic accommodations. A backpacker would give this 5 stars. We are seniors, so we rate it 1 star. There are no sheets on the bed, just a mattress cover. The "blanket" or top sheet are large beach-size towels. There is hot water for the shower... more

A wonderful guesthouse, such a great locations. The Thai style bungalows were large, comfortable and clean, with a great balcony. The staff were fantastic. It was the cheapest place we stayed in Thailand and by far the best. About A$35 a night for the bungalow. We did not want to leave. The town is great and the meals and everything... more

What a great deal for the money. I tried to book on line 2 rooms @ the Ploy house with no success and our taxi driver (charged our family of 5--- 780 baht for 4-5 hours to see the Tiger Temple and find a hotel. I went to the Pong Phen via his recommendation ,but still wanted to check out... more
