this has to be the most remote hotel i have ever been to, smack in the middle of a jungle, one of your reveiws states the noise of the generator. this is not true it is the Cicadas, the place is magical. and the furniture in the rooms is something to behold.the hole, experiance was something we will never forget

After spending 5 hours online looking for a retreat before our last few days in Bangkok, we landed at Mom Chailai with hopes for a peaceful, quiet nature-retreat. In short, it was not what we expected and overpriced for what we got. There are some things that are out of the hotel's control that unfortunately impact the idea of being... More

A small secluded resort, rooms are spread in the forest. The least expensive room may fit young people (third floor, no elevator, away from the parking lot), while the medium-priced one we used is fine for a vacating mature couple. Internet service is poor, breakfast is minimal. I guess it OK for a 2-star rating.

We've been living in Bangkok for six months. We got here on Day 2 after martial law had been declared and the following day, a coup d'etat. After the pollution, noise, filth, traffic jams, continuous political unrest of Bangkok, Momchailai Forest Retreat was a cool, peaceful sanctuary amidst mature trees and the sound of cicadas. Win, the English-speaking ethnic Mon... More

Nestled in the jungles of Sai Yok this resirt gives you a true forest experience. if you like peace, quiet and nature you will love this place. A little far off you need your own car to get here. Rooms and bathrooms are clean, I had a nice cottage on a height surrounded by the trees and long bamboo. Great... More

I agree, this place is a bit controversial. It can be a great, original experience or a nightmare. It depends what you are looking for. It is hidden in the Thai jungle, rather difficult to find, no shops around. But if you have your own transport it can be great as it is very exclusive, quiet, with “natural look”, the... More

We booked a night at Momchailai on the 24th April as a part of our ANZAC tour with Joe (Thailand Attraction Tours) which by the way was so bloody good I would like to yell from the roof tops for anyone that wants or needs transport whilst in Bangkok, contact me and I'll give your Joe's details. In retrospect, we... More

We were the only guest when we went. It was weekday. The place was a hidden gem. Especially loved the fresh- water pool in the jungle. Well-maintained, clean pool with warm water from the always running natural spring. A forest retreat definitely. However, it was rather hard to find. Rooms need refurbishment. Beware no amenities nearby. But lovely memories all... More
