We have been subjected to Stuart’s hospitality twice this year already, once in January and again in April. Both times were just great. Spent a few days in Kanchanaburi playing Songkran and then escaped the water madness to Ban Sabai Sabai. Again the food was first rate as was the whole experience, I really love staying at this place. We... More

Got lot's of mosquito bites and the food was a bit pricey, but we just didn't mind! Stuart as an amazing person, so nice and the stories he can tell, wow, what a guy. The guesthouse is located in a village called Nong Bua which is really amazing, great locals, beautiful river to swim in and cheap and good restaurants... More

Perhaps we were there at the wrong time or perhaps our expectations were bloated by the reviews here but out of our 2 month trip around South East Asia this was the worst experience, accommodation-wise. We were supposed to stay 3 nights but I could not stay for more than 1 - and what a horrible night that was. We... More

Hummm, I had a great stay, Stuart is a great guy who is willing to help you out soooooo much! And really helped us plan everything perfectly to enjoy our time in Kanchurburi! The location isn't great but everything is easy to get to as Stuart will arrange it for you! The living bedrooms weren't amazing, and I paid way... More

As has been said Stuart was a great host, very knowledgeable and willing to help planning your trip around the local sights etc. Food was very tasty, especially the Sunday BBQ. Simple changes that would've made the stay 5 star are: Air conditioning in our room. The fans did little to help and found sleep quite hard in the heat.... More

All the reviews seem to just bang on about how nice Stuart is. So here's one about the actual rooms. We paid 850 for an aircon room, which was big but had a very old and uncomfortable mattress with every spring digging in and loads of Mosquitos that attacked you when in the shower. You should take mosquito killer spray... More

My 5 friends and I (6 girls), headed into Kanchanaburi this past weekend, and we had origianally planned to stay at Jolly Frogs, but after calling them numerous times and then the rooms filling up, we LUCKILY stumbled upon this gem. We absolutely loved our time at Ban Sabai Sabai, and it was all because of Stewart. He was the... More

We stayed 3 nights and it was like our house. Steward was very colorful person who makes the place more enjoyable. His delicious fusion cooking is another bonus for visitors. You can visit natural spa, waterfalls, Hellfire. And you can make 2-3 hours kayak riding on the kwai river.

Alright, here's the real deal about this place. My girlfriend and I had spent three days (two days too long) in Bangkok and we jumped on a minibus up to Kanchanaburi. If you're coming from Bangkok, you can get a bus from Victory Monument or the Royal Hotel. We got ours from Victory Monument after a bit of wandering and... More

Stuart has created an amazing little peace of heaven. He is a fantastic host and cooked up a couple of exceptional meals while we (myself, husband and 10 year old daughter) stayed there over three nights. We had the little bungalow and found it to be a little dusty with a few straying ants but the fans kept us cool... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
My property is about 10 minutes from the city of Kanchanaburi in Nong Bua the village is on the small River Kwai and we're about a 5 minute walk from the village. It's very nice and quiet area and we also have fun BBQs and parties. There are 3 double beds for rent on the property, plus I have a 3 bedroom rental across the street, either single rooms or the whole house. The gardens here are large with a fountain and the atmosphere is like staying in a home environment. Our Noi is a fantastic cook from Issan in the north of Thailand which has popular food and she also cooks traditional Thai food. On the weekends we have a western style BBQ with pork, lamb, chicken and deer meat, mashed potatos and a Greek salad and a fun time. I'm Stuart from Canada but have been living outside of Canada more than 20 years. I had private island in Honduras not expensive either and opened places in Central America: Costa Rica, Honduras and now I'm retired in Thailand(54) and have built a lovely place to stay or visit or come for lunch....... ... more   less
