Gave it average becuase of great location and good grounds. Room was dirty and ac barely worked, shower was cold. Didn't eat here as service even to get a drink took ages. The place was also full of lots of sleazy old western men, I wouldn't stay here as a solo lady traveller.

First of all, I don't understand why this place is called Jolly Frog Backpackers, the guests were all lone old men. If you want to socialise, this is not the place to stay. It's got a very solitary feel about it. As 2 girls, we didn't feel safe in our room at night. Room was dirty & outdated & sheets... More

More like the deluded toad for me I'm afraid. Beautiful grounds and good food but our room was literally crawling with lizards, flying cockroaches, and other unidentifiable creatures. And there's no mosquito net. Needless to say we slept with one eye open. The showers are cold only. I'd say just pop in for a meal instead! :(

The grounds at this place are breathtaking, its right on the river and a big garden with river side seats. The food is good and so cheap by far the best burger iv had in some time. But athough its cheap the rooms arr really dirty as in not beeen cleaned after the last 10 guests. The bathroom has thick... More

While the rooms are merely adequate for guest houses in Thailand, the view from the courtyard is spectacular. Hammocks and loungers overlook the river Kwai. The food is decent and inexpensive, and the location is ideal for any traveler.

Stayed 3 nights and stayed in the 290 room with air conditioning and bathroom Pros - Arrived after check in time was closed but I'd called ahead so someone stayed up for us. Beautiful grounds, on the river. Amazing and dirt cheap western food. Suggest the beef burger and Mexican food. You won't find a better burger for 50 baht... More

Happy to say that "the German lady"is back and Jolly Frog is under new management. With possibly the best spot in town, quiet but close to all the action and the advantage of having a great big garden by the river to relax in. Great restaurant with lots of choices and cheap food to banquet Thai. Standards had slipped over... More

Stayed here with 2 friends for 3 nights, the rooms were basic but price reflects this, there was a bed and working fan! Nice surroundings with a garden over looking the river which is also a great place to meet people! Food was great, we enjoyed all the meals we had here and great value for money! would stay here... I stayed here as a solo traveler. And I oved it sooo much! My room was indeed small and sadly a little far from the shared bathroom. But it made up for that in so many other ways. For starters, as a female solo traveler, it felt safe. It had everything there, so I didn;t have to go out looking... More

Perfect to meet and share with backpackers, have some beers in front of the Kwai River! Closed to nice bars like the Raggae bar in the same street, it was a really great place to stay, we've met a lot of nice people and it's really cheap (we've paid 200 baht/night between 3). Just perfect to stay a few days... More
