I stayed in the floating raft house guestroom down on the river. Super hot in there during the day, but that's to be expected, since a) it's Thailand, b) it's made a metal and c) it's floating on a reflective surface. I've read bad reviews of this place and I don't really understand why it has gotten bad reviews. You... More

Kanchanaburi's rooms are cheap and all the other hotels and guesthouses I checked on the same street are better. A few have swimming pools(Phong Phen, Tara, Noble Night), others like Sugarcane Hotel is cheap, Blue Star is nice. All are inexpensive. The German Jew lady at Frog was horrible and phony. Stinky , flooded bathrooms. Internet didn't work. Moto drivers... More

Rooms are really basic and old. The AC of our room doesn't work so well...still hot in the room. No hot water. There isn't flush (toilet) but concerning that it is ok it is the same in the nearby guesthouses :-) The garden is really great with recliners and hammocks, also a great view on the river Kwai. The restaurant... More

The jolly is dirt cheap hence mainly catering to cheapo westerners. As a result the staff treats farang like crap, is ignorant, rude, uninterested, lazy and arrogant. The rooms are basic but what to expect for the price, not really clean either, explaining why thai people will rarely stay there and western 'backpackers" will. the food is ok. the prices... More

One of my friends told me about this jolly frog. So when I first arrived at Kanchanaburi I was exited to go and explore (btw go by train it's cheaper and way off a better experience then mini van) I arrived at the jolly frog and was rudely greeted by the "manager" some German Lady with a horrible attitude. So... More

Much said by previous reviews. Stayed 2 nights in fan room with cold water bathroom cost 230 BT per night. Room basic, dingy and probably dubious cleanliness but nice little verandah area. The bed was terrible, hard and sagging in the middle. Could hear neighboring guests through thin walls. But the the real selling point of staying here is the... More

Well.. it literally doesn't cost anything spending a night there. You can eat breakfast for the same money in Europe, if that. The rooms are not that comfortable, especially the ones without the air conditioning. They only have 3 air conditioned rooms all over the place, so be fast to book one if you're planning to stay there and can't... More

The rooms are indeed basic but what do you expect for 230 baht. Plenty of space in the rooms, bathroom is just fine, cute little table and chairs outside each room to hang out in. The garden area is amazing, even if you're not staying there its worth a visit. Restaurant is decent, won't find any cheaper and the foods... More

The garden area was amazing, really beautiful and being next to the river was really nice. But the rooms were the worst I had stayed in. Horrible horrible. Broken mosquito nets. FILTHY "bathroom" more like a hole and a tube for a shower cheap but disgusting.

Stayed in a double room with a fan and bathroom which came to around 230baht per night and it was great for the money. Basic room and bathroom but it does the job, the grounds/ garden area more than makes up for the room- you could easily spend a whole day sat reading or listening to music in the deckchairs... More
