We spent 3 nights at the Mantrini following recommendation from a Travel Agent. Although out-of-town, it was a modern, clean, and very pleasant hotel - quite unusual. Our room opened out onto the swimming pool which was very attractively designed. The experience was made better by the lack of customers (due to fall in tourism), so we had the place... more

We have just returned from Thailand where our two week vacation included five days in the Mantrini Boutique Hotel in Chiang Rai. The hotel is in an area outside of the centre on the main highway (5 or 10 minutes on tuk tuk). The area itself is not the most attractive part of Chiang Rai and the hotel building on... more

The Mantrini is a new mid-sized hotel in Chiang Rai, which opened up a few months ago. The art gallery is not yet open, but it looks like it will be a very nice space. The hotel lobby is spacious and furnished in a modern contemporary style. The front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating. For example, the hotel... more

Booked this hotel after reading reviews, but the reviews fail to mention that there is a huge disco/nightclub next door to the Mantrini. It is very loud and the noise cannot be drowned out by double glazing. Hotel did move us further away from disco but still too loud to sleep. It goes on until 2am during the week it... more

We were very impressed with the Mantrini. We arrived Mid June (middle of low season) and stayed 2 nights 3 days. They had a deal on their already low rates. We ended up paying about 3000Baht for 3 days 2 nights in a Superior room. The hotel has free internet which is always nice. The staff are very nice but... more

This is the second time I have been to the Mantrini in two years. Although I am not a world wide traveler , I am very impressed with this hotel. It is on the " super highway " so you can get to any where in Chiang Rai; either by car (if you are feeling VERY adventurous) , taxi or... more

MY TRAVEL STYLE: I hate business hotels and strongly prefer resorts that resemble the Four Seasons, Aman, and Oberoi but try to find similar properties at lower cost. I seek out the “wow” experiences and I encourage you to view hotels I have stayed at and their respective reviews (by clicking on my name). LOCATION: Ok. On a busy street... more

When our group left this stay after a week long stay we felt truly spoiled. The hotel is beautiful, very clean, and overall just a peaceful place to be. The staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. This was my third trip to Thailand and the dinner we had here was some of the... more

The Mantrini is certainly stylish, both the hotel itself as are the rooms. It's also convientently located just opposite the Big C shopping center. However staff had quite some problems with talking English. The breakfast buffet (or the set breakfast on the last day) were not what one would expect from such a classy hotel more

Based on the other reviews for the Mantrini in Chiang Rai, we had high expectations of this hotel. It was nice, but in my opinion, it is not worthy of the rave reviews it received on this site. Do not go there expecting 5 star service. To us, it was more of an average hotel. During our 24-hour stay at... more
