This place was such a find. Seriously one of the most beautiful and friendly places I've been. Stayed for four nights before moving onto the next door (so to speak) hotel and wished we'd stayed longer. Set high up in the mountains with spectacular views all over, the little bamboo (everything here is bamboo, even their car and buggy!) bungalows... more

Rare do you come across a resort like the Phu Chaisai. It is so clearly the pride and joy of the owners and special attention was paid to every single detail. At US$100 per night, the rooms are a complete steal. The balcony of the room is beautiful as is the rooftop terrace. Went with my girlfriend for 2 days... more

The place is complete in itself. We stayed in a cottage with big balcony and fantastic view. Perfect timing to visit is probably around end of rainy season throughout winter, during the month of November-February. The resort area itself is about 25-30 acres, but the adventures span the whole mountain. We just spent the first afternoon checking around facilities and... more

Phu Chaisai was the first hotel after our long flight from Europe and stopover in Bangkok. We arranged for the accommodation directly with the hotel and were very happy to see that the car from Phu Chaisai was already waiting for us at the Chiang Rai airport. It is important to note that the hotel itself is located some 30... more

A terrific place in a wonderful location. We were lucky enough to have one of the Thai style houses at the top of the hill. Hidden away with gorgeous views over the hills and mountains with it’s own private infinity pool...this really was a hidden gem. This was also a great base from which to explore the golden triangle. The... more

We regretfully were only able to stay here for a night, as our travels were taking us elsewhere. The grounds are unreal. It's breathtakingly beautiful, however, the view to the west is soon to be obstructed by a new resort that's being constructed. These are literally stilted on the side of the hill and provide amazing views all over the... more

Our stay was very nice, with good service from the staff. All the rooms have balconies/terraces with great views. The hotel is built with terracotta clay and bamboo, quite unique, allthough termites are having a great time on some of the wood. The rooms were spacious and nice with mosquito nets over the beds. There are mosquitos at night on... more

I have lived in thailand for 5 years and have traveled quite extensively across the country. I have stayed in every type of hotel imaginable and I must say that Phu Chaisai is the most unique, pleasant experience I have ever had. From the ecologically-sound choice of local building materials, to the juxtapositioning of rooms on a hill to provide... more
