This guesthouse offers very good value for money. It is very well located close to the night market and has very clean rooms. The staff are very pleasant and helpful and despite booking with no breakfast we were offered coffee and toast each day. Will definitely stay here again when in Chiang Rai.

This was the second time that my wife and I have stayed at Baan Malai. We stayed for 5 days and again enjoyed it tremendously. As a previous reviewer commented, it should be classified as a hotel. It is very new, the rooms are spotless and although no breakfast is mentioned there is toast, fruit, jams, tea and delicious coffee... More

Baan malai should be categorised as hotel in stead of guesthouse. It looks brandnew is very clean. Staff is friendly and more than willing to help you. Location is good. Maybe the hotel is even a little too proper and organised to be cosy.

I stayed five nights at Baan Malai in Chiang Rai and found it to be very clean, great service and a very friendly owner/manager. There is no lift so if you stay on the third floor as I did, you have to climb the stairs...good exercise and not really a problem. There is no pool however you get a free... More

my mate and I stayed here for 3 nights this week and it was a first class experience. The rooms are well appointed the bathroom excellent by Thailand standards. The free coffee and breakfast is well done a great place to relax. I would thoroughly recommend this place close to night bazaar and they have an in house tour guide... More

This place is a very good place to stay in Chiang Rai. It is proximate to many of the attractions. The staffs are really very good. The rooms are wide and very clean. Most of the rooms have a private balcony which provides a spectacular view. I suggest taking the second floor onwards for the balcony and view.

A beautiful home located very close to the night market and the bus station. Great, clean and very comfortable room. Good restaurants within walking distance. Very nice staff. The bad thing is getting heavy bags to the upper floors using the stairs. Otherwise, a great place to stay in Chiang Rai.

Great guesthouse. Really clean and comfortable. Large room, nice staff. Decent location. The breakfast is a basic toast with tea coffee and some fruit, all self service. However for the price you pay, there is no right to moan about it. My girlfriend and I found Chiang Rai a bit boring, and to be honest the fact we has this... More
