We stayed at the Amarin resort for four nights over New year's eve during a motorbike trip through northern Thailand. The resort is located a bit outside the city centre near the river, about five minutes to the clocktower. The location is very quiet, without ahh passing traffic and some bars and restaurants nearby, which makes it a perfect starting... More

I never cease to be amazed at the Thai people's hospitality. The Amarin has three things going for it: a quiet location (though I had trouble finding it at night), a staff completely dedicated to making your stay as comfortable as possible (given that it's a three-star place) and a very reasonable price. The bungalows on one side aim for... More

Quiet location. Bungalows in a garden, so only little notice of other guests. You will need your own transport to get there. No public transport and a bit outside of the city center. Some nice riverside restaurants in walking distance.

We enjoyed four nights at the Amarin Resort while in Chiang Rai for a wedding at the much more expensive Le Meridien (just around the corner). We couldn't be more happy with the Amarin. The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were great value, if a little basic. Didn't miss the pool as it was not hot and... More

We stayed at Amarin resort in Chiang rai for 4 days. The resort is in the north part of town and for the most part it's out of the way. I took a taxi to a 7-11 in Chiang rai and back to the resort for 70 baht. At current exchange rates that is $2.132. That was with the meter... More

The staff at this place could not do enough for us which was lovely. We had people who were leaving our group prior to others and all was arranged for their travels. We had minivans organised for us when we required them for sightseeing travels. The breakfast was a nice choice of 4 dishes each morning, place whatever was on... More

Wonderful quiet location on the outskirts of the city within short walking distance of several good restaurants right on the Kok river. Our room was modern, spacious and very clean with a white tiled floor. The bed was large and comfortable with LCD TV, air conditioner, mini fridge, jug, safe and useful furnishings. Breakfast was in a gorgeous building in... More

Good staff with English speaking. Nice garden. Quite location and near to river(Mekong river). Hotel walking distance to night market cost 2km or 15 minutes. Ok to walk and explore around in Chiang Rai, it's safe. Hotel provide good breakfast as well (Thai & Asian food). Coffee is nice too.

We stayed there 2 nights ( couple + kid of 6yo ) in a bungalow with king size beds. We arrived there by driving with our car from Chiang Mai and we stopped there on as we have to go to Mae Sai and return, was not complicated to find with GPS, as it was my first time to drive... More

Hotel is ok but the breakfast is horrible, no choice, very poor quality, and the in-room shower is crappy. The staff speaks good English. Probably ok for just one night. ------------------------------------------------------------
