There are rooms in the main house and also a row of stables like rooms at the end of the garden which is where we stayed. Very peaceful, clean, lovely owner and only a short walk to the high street or the bistro at the condotel to eat/shop.

Chiang Rai was intended to be a quick stop on the way to the golden triangle and back for a night on our return to Bangkok. Instead, we wished we'd scheduled more time in this town of beautiful temples and excellent markets. Our fortuitous decision to stay at the Baan Rub Aroon guesthouse enhanced our Chiang Rai experience by locating... More

We were only meant to stay in Chiang Rai for a few days but after falling ill we were at Baan Rub Aroon for almost a week! We were lucky that we were somewhere so nice and comfortable for such a horrible part of our travelling! The owner Nong is amazing and really looked after us making us Chinese tea,... More

A lot of pros : very nicely decorated garden and lobby, the owner really has very good taste. She is also very welcoming, ready to help in any way, and speaks an excellent English, which is farely rare in Thaïland. The family room we had was simple, but really immaculate (quite rare too, especially in little towns) and well organized.... More

The rooms are large and very clean and we recommend staying here. The lady who runs it was very quick to offer her help if we needed anything and cooked a good breakfast. The rooms don't look exactly how we thought they would from the pictures but were still fine. Thanks for your hospitality

Baan Rub Aroon is a well located, peaceful guesthouse in Chiang Rai. It's within a 10-15 minute walk of the Clocktower, the night markets, the local food market, and a bunch of the different Wats. The rooms in the guesthouse are spacious and clean, though they're not luxurious -- but that's not what you're expecting here. They cook breakfast and... More

Great little guest house in a quiet location. Good value for money. Firstly we had a room outside the main building which was a big quiet room. We also had a big room within the main building which was a great room but a little noisy due to the shared balcony. The owner rented us a good scooter and we... More

In the style of an old colonial house with rooms both inside and outside. We stayed outside. Before 7:30am and after 5:00pm it's very peaceful, between those times there is a lot of shrieking from the school opposite. Not really relevant, but we wondered if the kids ever did any studying, there seems to be no distinction between playtime and... More

Baan Rub Aroon Guesthouse was a welcome haven to end my trip in the area of Chiang Rai. I had spent almost a week with two Akha hill tribe home stays and was so relieved when I showed up early and the sweet owner said they were just finishing up my room and I was welcome to check in early.... This place is set in a good location (5/10 minute walk to most places) and has a lovely garden you can sit & relax in. The rooms are basic but clean, and very spacious (we stayed in one of the bungalows), and it was very quite at night. All staff were extremely friendly, even if some of them couldn't speak... More
