Baan Rub Aroon Guesthouse was a welcome haven to end my trip in the area of Chiang Rai. I had spent almost a week with two Akha hill tribe home stays and was so relieved when I showed up early and the sweet owner said they were just finishing up my room and I was welcome to check in early.... More

This place is set in a good location (5/10 minute walk to most places) and has a lovely garden you can sit & relax in. The rooms are basic but clean, and very spacious (we stayed in one of the bungalows), and it was very quite at night. All staff were extremely friendly, even if some of them couldn't speak... More

It may have been quaint once but a little tired now. The photos are generous. The welcome was friendly but not what we had expected from earlier reviews. We were sharing the toilet and shower which was basically clean but a bit dusty and unkempt.

Stayed here three nights in an outside room with en-suite bathroom. The room was massive and very comfortable, the bathroom was also very spacious. very quiet, peaceful place in a nice garden walking distance to everything in the town centre - shopping, restaurants, bars, wats. The kitchen at the house was very good to have, to sit outside in the... More

The room was very large with a shared bath (we were the only ones staying fortunately!) with everything you need. Bed was not bad, a bit hard. Breakfast was on the small side, very simple and no beverage other than coffee or tea is available (which you had to get inside yourself). Good value, however.

We stayed here in January, 2014 for one night as we passed through. A good location, just a 5-10 minute walk to the night market and main town center. Also a safe and quite area. Our room was big, comfortable, and clean. I'm pretty sure we had one of the nicer rooms, and it was a shared bathroom in the... More

Stayed here for 2 nights last month in one of the outhouses in a spacious ensuite room. We thought this was a lovely guesthouse, down a quiet street within easy walking distance to the main part of town. The owner was really friendly making us feel right at home and the breakfast in the garden area was lovely! We loved... More

We had an excellent stay at this guesthouse. The atmosphere in this old townhouse with the garden around is very nice. The owner was very friendly and helpful and took time to give us hints what to see in one day in Chiang Rai. The breakfast exceeded our expectations with eggs, jam and fresh fruits served in the garden. Should... More

For a couple that had been going hostel to hostel to hotel for months in Southeast Asia, Baan Rub Aroon was incredible. The house is very nice, felt just like being home again. Nong was amazingly helpful and friendly, and using the kitchen after eating out all the time was a great break.
