This guest house is in a quiet location on the edge of town but it takes less than 15 mins to walk into the centre. The rooms are set around a garden and the restaurant/communal area so it's a good place to meet other travellers. There's plenty of parking for mopeds too. The rooms are well maintained and whilst I... More

Chat Guest house was a wonderful place to stay. The staff are so friendly and the owner enjoys a good laugh. The food was great and very cheap as was the little bungalow style accommodation .They arranged a day drip for me to the Golden Triangle(must see)as you can stand in Thailand and see 3 other countries...amazing.Then a large waterfall which takes... We stayed for one night on our way from the Laos border. The staff here were very friendly and helpful. The room was good for the cost, bed was a bit hard but definitely not the worst I've had in south east Asia. A bit out of town but only a 15 minute walk to the food bazaar.

This guest house is so cheap and has a lovely, inviting garden, super friendly host and the rooms aren't bad either. A little far from the center, but quite a nice walk regardless. They have a kitchen on the premises with tasty food.

The room are not really big, but the outside garden is nice to spend your time. We also had dinner once at the restaurant and the food was good. It is the best value for money guesthouse we found in Thailand. We stayed there in february and during the night is not warm so the room with fan was enough.

We stayed at the Chat House for 3 night while in Chiang Rai. It was a very peaceful stay, with standard but very clean rooms and hot showers. But the best part was the staff: Fito, the manager, made us feel like home, was very nice, approachable, and funny. He constantly had a smile on his face. Et led us... More

Cheap! Great for budget travel. Staff is very friendly. They helped us get a 3am driver to Phu Chi Fa the night before we wanted to do it. Very accommodating. Didn't care that we squeezed 2 to a bed to save even more money. Hostel food is also good. Hot showers. Towels provided. Free wifi. Great central location. BONUS: Kittens... More

Did not go out of our way to find such budget accommodation but found the Chat was excellent value and run by extremely helpful and friendly people. The breakfast ( don't think it was included ) was very good. Place is fairly dated but clean. Wifi was excellent.

Hot showers, clean rooms, great food, wifi. Just 150 for a single bed private room. The staff is very helpful and will set you up with any tours or rentals you want to make. You won't be disappointed spending your time in Chiang Rai here.

250b for a double bedroom with private bathroom, friendly staff full of advices, quiet common place in a garden where you can relax and have a good wifi connexion! Food is not the best ever but anyway that's really a nice place to stay at! 10min walk from the city center, close to morning market!
