We stayed at 3 people room. The room a little bit not so spacious to move around. The view around Ben Guesthouse is great and calm. We ask the receptionist about the tour price and the answer is not so good and the staff not so friendly to entertained us. Overall, the experience is good and a little bit far... More

I spend just one Night there. On Pictures it looks nice and they had a small pool so i decide to go there. The pool was cold and the water don't look clean. Now i understood why nobody in the water. My Single Bed Fan Room for 500 Baht was disgusting. Dark like a cave. i had to switch all... More

We were upgraded to a room with air-conditioning however the evenings are cool in January and you really don't need it. We had only one afternoon in Chiang Rai and found that the location was walking distance to the few things we wanted to visit including the night bizarre, clock tower, hill tribe museum and night market. We ate from... More

For the price this guesthouse has all that you are looking for. Pool, clean and tidy rooms, small but effective restaurant and close to town.We were upgraded from a fan room to an A/C room, although the A/C was not required in January

We had a big group come in last minute, and the staff was very accommodating. The rooms we had originally booked were full and they found a solution right away. We ate at the restaurant for breakfast each day, booked a tour through the staff within minutes, and had an overall lovely time. The pool was such a treat!

On approach, Ben Guesthouse looks the biz, with a lovely pool. But there the beauty stopped. Our double a/c room was dark and dingy and my wife found it very claustrophobic. Our three teenage kids stayed in the homestay room, which was very large, but a) described as a/c, which was actually only in one of the two bedrooms b)... More

The pool is the best thing about this place. The staff is clueless. Their ability to speak English is rather limited. The service is minimal. The staff barely provides tourist information about Chiang Rai. All they offer is info about package tours. They are not even familiar with the bus schedule and pricing for going to Chiang Mai. The rooms... More

This was the worst room I have ever stayed in. The hotel looks so nice when you turn up, beautiful gardens and a nice big swimming pool, but the moment we stepped into our room it was like an entirely different place. We were in the old part which from what I've heard is definitely the worst part but I... More

Okay so we are still here, its 10.30pm and our room is alive with critters!! Our room stinks of urine, its ridiculously hot with no air con and there are literally holes in the bathroom vents to outside 'stuffed' with toilet paper to stop anything crawling through. The worst part is the entire hotel is practically empty aside from 3 other guests,why... More

You get what you pay for but for 600 baht for an AC room we thought Ben's was great value, mainly because of the pool. The rooms (we were in the Lanna style building next to the pool) were small and dark but had character and space to sit outside. The room had a TV but no fridge or kettle.... More
