Had to stay over night in Surat Thani for early morning flight from airport to Bangkok. Yes the guide books are right there is not much at all to do in the town. If you are staying at the hotel as stop over it is fine. There is outdoor swimming pool with some loungers, the bedrooms are large, bathroom has...

If you are not expecting high-end, perfectly clean place, this should be acceptable. A bit of nuisance is that you may find it not particularly well-maintained in some parts (bathroom etc.) You can buy WIFI connection for 24 hours at 100bahts at the reception and it works alright. Apparently various types of massage that they are offering are pretty good...

An average Thai town hotel in the middle of Surat Thani Town. Nothing special but in good shape and helpful staff; some speak English as well, so you can get help and advices where to go and what to see. Breakfast is satisfying; we didn’t try the pool or the sauna. Parking in front is free, internet is not free....

The 'better' higher up rooms with a river view are smaller than the lower floor rooms looking over the pool, initially I was going to get one of the upper floor rooms but they were booked out so I took larger lower floor room .... I was ver happy with it adequate bathroom, and...

The Wang Tai is a large hotel in Surat Thani, about 20minute walk from the town centre. I booked the superior room for only 935 Baht (30 USD). But I felt so surprised when I entered the lobby of the hotel. I would say it should be 3.5 or 4 star hotel with big lobby. I felt that it's very good value comparing to other hotel standard in Bangkok and Samui. Here are the full review :...

This is a modern-looking but rather run-down hotel that desperately needs renovation and an upgrade. It is badly located some distance from ferries, city, bus stations. Its internet service is expensive. Paint is peeling off walls, carpets are smelly. One night there was too much.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 1 night as we were had to catch an early morning flight from Surat Thani to Bangkok.
We booked through AsiaRooms for around £24 and would say that it was well worth the money. We had travelled in from Koh Phangan on the Raja Ferry, and the transfer coach drops you...

This hotel is a large european style hotel on the edge of the town of Surat Thani. It is though close to the river front which is the best way to walk into town past some nice bars and restaurants. The hotel is on the main road leading into the town from the train station
Reception area is large with...
