Phra Thong is a rarity in Thailand - an unspoilt island. There are endless miles of empty sand - but also other aspects of island life to explore e.g. visiting local villages, wandering out to a nearby beach bar (frequented by locals as well as tourists) and spending an afternoon with a marine biologist. Karen (the owner) is a natural... More

My family and I spent four days at Phra Thong Nature Resort. If you are looking for a place to get away from it all, Koh Phra Thong should come at the top of your list. The resort is made of bamboo and thatch, very simple yet comfortable. Karen, the resort's owner, is a charming Scottish person who do her... More

Karen is awesome, she is the hostess with the mostess, she sorted out all of our transfers to and from the Island and she works with the local people to keep the townsfolk suitably employed. If you want to stay somewhere where there is a lovely sociable atmosphere and a great community feel then this is the place for you!... More

Phrathong nature resort is off the beaten track so if you want bright city lights forget it. If you want Thailand of 20 years ago with its empty beaches & smiling people then come. Getting there was fun pack lightly as you have to transfer from bus/car to boat to motorcycle & sidecar. Exciting arrival by longtail boat and across... More

Spent two weeks doing nothing but sleeping, eating walking the beaches and swimming. And, of course there were a party once in a while as well. Time seemed to become irrelevant and days never changed. Lived in a state were I made my day as it progressed. No planning, no rush. Had a wonderfull time at the resort, and the... More

We travelled to this island and resortvwithout knowing what a real gem we were about to encounter. The journey included a ferry, a longtail and a motorcycle with a sidecar but Karen Spackman, the resort operator had excellent resources, contacts and abilities to make everything work like clockwork. The resort is small and basic but well cared for with a... More

After searching hours and hours on the internet we finally found this beautiful resort. The island is absolutely incredible & probably one of the last "unspoilt" islands in Thailand. The whole experience was an adventure from the moment you arrive at the small local pier to the baby hornbill that sits on the back of your chair at breakfast and... More

We (5 adults, one 2 year old, 2 months old babies x2) stayed here 3 nights in the end of January and loved the place. It is almost a deserted island. You could walk on the beach and see nobody. In the resort they have 6 bamboo huts. They are very basic, but in a place like this, who wants... More

Are you desperately looking for a wild and almost deserted island in Thailand, scared of going back home after spending your precious dream tropical holiday fighting with other greedy tourists to have your sarong laid on the packed beaches of the Andaman Sea? We were, and after a long research took the effort to reach this remote island and to... More

What a wonderful place to stay. Karen and nature resort are true gems! Immediately you feel like you are part of her beautiful resort/home/family, like you have been there for years. From our first correspondence to being picked up in khuraburi and arriving on koh phra thong, everything was so well organised by Karen and her wonderful team. The island... More
