We came to Karama Lodge before climbing Kilimanjaro, with two days stay to catch up on jet lag, We enjoyed all the services, massage, swimming in the pool. Sitting on our deck & watching the monkies cavorting threw the tree tops. The food & restaurant services was exceptional - friendly, effient. After the climb we were back for a day... More

Karama is a really great lodge. It's situated on a mountain slope in lush forest. The rooms are small houses on stilts with balcony's with great views over the the surrounding hills and Kilimanjaro. It's all very nicely decorated, the restaurant and bar area have giant windows overlooking Kili in the distance. Food was great, we are vegetarians and were... More

Lovely place. Friendly, helpful staff. Great location - close to town but far enough out to feel 'hidden' and relaxing. Comfortable, roomy cabins with bathroom and large shower. Great views of the valley and Mt Mere from the balcony. The food was outstanding. Some of the best I have had and they cater brilliantly for vegetarians (a variety of choices... More

My husband and I were going on an 8 day Safari, and this was our first lodge and also our last lodge before flying to Zanzibar. This lodge is way off the beaten path. The room are nice, with good space and amenities. The beds super comfortable and it has a pool ! The food and staff were very friendly,... More

location is a little bit outside town and you have to go through very rough roads to get there. But that's the only disadvantage. Staff and manager are great and welcoming. Rooms are lovely. Food is one of the best in Arusha. Views are amazing.

We stayed in the Lodge for one night at the start of our safari. It was a good introduction to Tanzania and our Safari. The staff stayed late and cooked a meal for us as we were late arriving. The rooms were rustic and a bit basic but the feeling and style of the place was special. Our stay was... More

Our family of 6 stayed here for 4 nights prior to going on safari as well as 4 nights afterwards. For this reason we felt like we really knew the place well and if felt like our 'home away from home'. Karama Lodge is a beautiful looking rustic lodge located in a stunning setting on the outskirts of of Arusha.... More

This was our last night at the end of our safari before returning home. The lodge is located on the outskirts of Arusha inside a lush garden. The rooms consist of small wooden houses with a nice view on the valley below. We found the room to be quite basic, but perfectly fine for a short stay. We loved the... More
