We spent two nights in this lovely little hotel. It was the perfect way to "arrive" in Tanzania. The proprietor was very friendly and stopped by our little cottage to chat quite a bit. The food was excellent. We loved the "Tanzanian small bites." The service was prompt and friendly and the rooms were lovely. Would stay here again next... More

When you start your safari trip to Tanzania from Kilimanjaro International Airport, Arusha is of course the city to stay the first night. And Onsea House is probably one of the best accommodations there. Beautifully located and offering a wonderful view over the city. The lodges are spacious and the bathrooms are very clean. Staff is very friendly although they... More

Stayed in late August. We arrived in KIA on the Amsterdam to Kilimanjaro flight and arrived at Onsea House at 9:00 pm. Check-in was friendly and expeditious. Our room was very nice with a mosquito netting bed, big bathroom and a nice balcony with view. We went down to dinner onto the covered veranda. It had a great view of... More

We recently stayed at the Onsea House/Machewo and it was wonderful! The owners were very helpful and accommodating. Although I had read earlier reviews of the rudeness of the owners, we never found that at all. Our flight arrived around 1 AM at Kilimanjaro Airport, and did not really arrive until around 2 AM. People were there to let us... More

So by the time we arrived I just wanted a fresh clean green bug free room with a four poster, bottled water, plenty of towels and we got it!! Then at dinner we were given our own little hot coal fire next to the table. The gardens were lovely and I do judge a place by its bathroom views ..Lovely.... More

We stayed 2 nights to recover from long flights on our first visit to Africa. ` got in after midnight and were greeted graciously with juice and damp scented towels. We slept comfortably and long, and were served breakfast nibbles after 11am on the dining room deck and a fine lunch midafternoon. ` took a walk in the afternoon outside... More

Wonderful 1-week stay in Onsea House Arusha. The high points: - beautiful venue and garden (very charming colonial style bed and bath room) - healthy and delicious lunches and dinners on the terrace with a stunning view (vegetarian and even raw food on the menu, and some classics (erwtensoep) - my first safari (including many elephants) - very friendly host... Our group stayed here enroute from Selous to Serengeti and it was a nice overnight stop. Convenient location to the Arusha airport and the staff along with the dogs and cats were all very welcoming. One of the cats found my room quite comfortable which was very sweet. The rooms varied in size and location - some of our party... More

We wanted to spend the nights before and after our Kilimanjaro hike at this Inn but they were totally booked for the night prior. The Inn has a spectacular view. We were impressed from the moment we stepped into the lobby and they handed us fresh fruit juice. It is very luxurious. It was nice to clean up and relax... More

My husband and I spent one evening in Arusha at Onsea in between 2 safari itineraries and it was a great place to stay, unwind and relax. We enjoyed a cocktail by the pool and a wonderful outdoor dinner onsite at Machweo. While most of Arusha was in the darkness that night, Onsea was operating at full steam under generator... More
