Relaxed and luxurious stay. Near to the mt. Meru & Kilimanjaro. On the road to the lodge is the Kilimanjaro Film Institute (www.kilimanjarofilm.org). more

This is a good place to rest and visit the beautiful surroundings: Lake Natron, savanna, flamingos, giraffes, wildlife. They have space for tents ($ 15), fly tents ($25) and lodges ($ 40). They have power generators with backup so that you can have electricity almost all day long. There is fresh water in the lodges coming from the nearby sources;... more

HORRIBLE experience, avoid if you only can. We were welcomed by indifferent, if not rude staff and led to our rooms, where we left our luggage and headed off for dinner, locking the room. While we ate, both our room and the room of our friends were robbed. We lost all our cash, that was divided up in several places... more

We were shoe-horned into this lodge by our tour operator as a first night stopover when arriving in Arusha. The gardens are beautiful but the rooms are spartan and not the cleanest you'll find, and all in all the place has a bit of a wanton feel to it. OK for a quick stopover but view it just like that,... more

This was our first stop on our 17 day Safari. Due to a mix up with an airline we ended up staying 3 nights instead of 2. We had a whole bungalow to ourselves, as we were travelling with out 4 kids (ages 12,11,9,7). We found the rooms to be beautiful, the grounds were beautiful. My kids LOVED the pool,... more

The fact that the customs agent at Arusha asked me whether I was going to the Moivaro Lodge as " all tourists are going there first " should have served as a warning sign.............................. After almost an hour from Arusha airport with a new found friend and driver/tour guide the gates were opened to us at the Moivaro Lodge. The... more

Do not understand the bad reviews unless they are written by Hilton Diamond club members... The hotel is clean, cute, very beautiful garden, welcome drink, always greeted with a smile by all staff, good breakfasts. Only downside was the bungalow that lacked a door to close the bathroom (it´s a curved wall) and hot water that had to be waited... more

We stayed here in October 2006 and November 2008. The first time, we arrived by airplane in the evening and left that following morning for our safari. Although we disliked the poor (included) breakfast, we were impressed by the nice scenery and view on the Mount Meru. Because of that, we booked again in 2008 for our first nights. We... more

We have been her for one night in August. The room are in small bungalows in a nice garden. The rooms are quite basic but clean and equipped with a fireplace. The only way to heat the room. You can ask for help to the reception and they will make a fire in the room. The food in the restaurant... more

I can not recommend this pace at all. The staff are rude and unhelpful. The food is of a very poor standard. The place is very expensive and the owners seem to be under the impression that all western tourists are made of gold. I soon tired of the out stretched hands expecting a tip for basic service eg pouring... more
