nice rooms but no mosquito nets and very noisey with dogs barking all night on one side and orphanage on other side. Not very central at all but nice rural walk nearby. However could have its nice sides. Food was good but staff so so friendly in cafe. more

We stayed at L'Oasis both before and after our safari, on the first occasion the bed seemed a little short and the pillows weren't great, however on our return (a different room) the bed and pillows were great and really comfy. The food was lovely, they have a set menu (for half board) and you have a choice of starter,... more

We stayed here just for 1 night on arrival in Arusha before getting picked up for safari the day after. The rooms are lovely, staff are very friendly. The rooms are all seperate (detached) with thatched roofs- pretty basic but this is Tanzania. The restaurant was really lovely and food was all cooked fresh- massively extensive menu and really lovely... more

The common facilities (bar, restaurant, pool) are undoubtedly great and the Lodge made a good impression to us. However, we were in the annexe and considering the price for two, we were very disappointed by the room which you would normally get for a tenth of the price elsewhere. I would recommend the Lodge to friends but feel the annexe... more

We stayed here as a stopover from our safari trip. Of all the places we stayed in Tanzania, this hotel had the most character. Our rooms each had painted murals. The bathrooms tended to plug up which was a minus. Service was great though and the food was incredible. The restaurant served Western style cuisine as well as S. African... more

This review is for the backpacker paradise rooms that are part of the L Oasis lodge. This is where I stay whenever I don't have an apartment in Arusha (I've spent equivalent of several months staying at this place). The rooms have a bed with a sink, vine painted walls and hardwood floors. they are all on a second floor... more

We stayed at La Oasis before and after our Safari to Serengeti with Basecamp. The staff and management at La Oasis are very good and personal. We were to leave very early in the morning to catch a bus to Lushoto and beside a breakfast box we got a thermos flask and coffee/tea without asking for it. We stayed around... more

My wife and I stayed at L'Oasis for a couple of nights in December after returning from Safari. We picked up a tummy bug and were vomitting and had diarrhea unfortunately. We asked Steve the manager about local doctors and he was very helpful and brought us complimentary water, buckets and toilet paper without being asked. Being sick away from... more

We spent 2 nights in this place in August 2008. We had a pleasant stay. The round bungalows are simple and somwehat basic, but quite nice and built in typical swahili style. Yet, the bathrooms would definitely benefit of some renovation. The bungalows are spread in a lovely garden with nice flowers and exoctic birds freely walking and grazing on... more

I stayed here based on the reviews I read and I have to say it was quite a disappointment. The grounds are fine but nothing special, the rooms are very dark and depressing and the bed linens and towels were downright scary. The food that everyone raves about was so-so. One meal was pretty good, the other was inedible. I... more
