what a delight this hotel seemed on first viewing, a little oasis we thought and our room, well it was gorgeous . Very large suite, stylishly decorated beautiful bathroom ( although a proper shower would have been nice) and pleasant gardens outside. So why would I give such a mediocre rating? It started at check in, the young man on... More

After the hustle and bustle of Arusha Town, some time out at the Bay Leaf was a real treat. It's a peaceful place, with a wonderful ambiance. The rooms are nicely appointed and the attention to detail is very good. I found the staff to be friendly and attentive, without being obtrusive. The food is great (including excellent coffee) and... We stayed 2 nights before and one after our climb to Kilimanjaro and I have to say it was the perfect choice for us. The rooms were lovely, very nice decorated, big, clean, with comfortable beds. Such a good hot shower and sleep after Kilimanjaro. The staff was very attentive (in our first night there it was a party in... More

After camping in the Serengeti park we looked for an expensive hotel to wash and relax before going home. We were a bit surprised that we were the only guest staying in the hotel. First surprise that there was no hot water to shower. After we questioned it they switched on the boiler. But it took very long to heat... More

Me and my fiancee stayed here 3 times in the 2 weeks we were in Africa. Before and after Safari and after coming back from Zanzibar. The staff was very nice and very courtious. The rooms were nice and had everything we needed. My favorite thing about the place was the food, We ate dinner here all the nights we... More

Given most people must stay here only one night at either the start of their safari, end or both...the Bay Leaf is an excellent choice. The room was lovely (very big, great shower), the food nice and the service excellent. All in a great choice when in Arusha.

Whilst it has taken me some time to review the hotel (stayed August 2013), I only wish that we had been able to stay again. As a large group of 10 we completely filled the rooms at the Bayleaf and it really felt like our home away from home. We had the privilege of staying here at the start of... More

We stayed here in a suite for 2 nights before we left on safari. It was recommended by Safari Infinity, our travel operator- and are we glad they did! We arrived very late on the first night after our flight was cancelled. They actually cooked us dinner at 10.30pm. We were very grateful! The suite was very spacious, clean and... More

I have often dined or stayed at the Bay leaf while living in Tanzania. The rooms are incredibly clean, well styled and the management and staff hospitality is second to none. I would highly recommend staying at the Bayleaf on your next visit. It is in a quiet and central part of Arusha. A real haven!

At first sight the impression is very good. Nice staff, the outside area is pretty nice. Then you quickly find that it's not the case. One of the rooms (the studio) is pretty noisy and very basic and no frills. The other rooms are much nicer but unfortunately we had a surprise. Huge beetles came out from our shower. We... More
