The African Tulip was our last stay after a hectic but thoroughly enjoyable 6-day safari. The hotel is located in a quite part of Arusha and is walkable distance to downtown Arusha. There is an interesting Masai market close to the hotel to buy Masai artifacts. Recommend a visit if you have the time. Rooms are bright and cheerful and... More

Tired and weary we arrive from the KLM flight in the Hotel just before midnight. Another group had got there before us so check in was delayed but only for minutes. Our minimal delay was apologised for and we were checked in efficiently and with a smile and more than one Karibu. {Such a difference to our check in in... More

If you are looking for a quiet and homely hotel I recommend the African Tulip. The staff are friendly and their meals ok. Good if you are on a business trip. The rooms are rather big but very clean. The wifi worked. The breakfast was also good nothing fancy. It is rather cold in Arusha in June so I did... More

We found this place through trip adviser as we were looking for a decent place to work from during the day. We came on several days and sat by the pool. The staff were friendly and accomodating, finding us power cables etc. The food was excellent and very reasonable in price. You have to pay for wi-fi but its good... More

You will not be disappointed. This is a fantastic hotel. Staff: Staff is welcoming, friendly and helpful. Manager was super accomodating & knew us by name & attended to our needs down to the smallest detail. Hotel: Beautiful & clean building with amazing interior design & exterior landscaping. We stayed at this hotel prior to our safari. We were a bit surprised to find out that they wanted to charge for wifi considering we booked a very expensive safari through the company that owns the hotel (Roy Safaris) and paid for the airport shuttle service that was also very expensive. I would recommend this property to evaluate this... More

Stayed for my 15th visit after a sixteen month absence and the standard is just as high as it has always been. Many of the staff are the same as my first trip 5 years ago and so are very experienced and so welcoming. Many thanks to all the staff for another enjoyable visit.

The African Tulip served as our base in Arusha before and after our safari. This was our first time in Tanzania (and in Africa!) so we were not sure what to expect of a city centre hotel. We were not disappointed. The room we were allocated on our first stay was exceptionally large, with a lovely living area separate to... More

We spent two weeks here...our "home away from home". VERY clean, quiet and secure! Staff are overly attentive and professional. Spacious room with equally spacious bathroom. Large deck area with four place table to take in the evening. The traffic is a challenge, but this is a great place to come back to! The pool area is very comfortable with... More

This is a great, clean, well-appointed hotel with friendly and professional staff. It's hard to know how to rate hotels, as I was certainly satisfied, but five points is reserved for total luxury experiences. I was at the hotel for business, and the facilities they provided for our meetings were fine. The outstanding feature of this hotel is the personal... More
