We stayed here to become accustomed to time change, etc. before going on a 10 day safari. It was very comfortable. The masseuse was excellent. The wait staff and food was average. A few mishaps, we arrived late, and no one there to greet us. Thank god our cab driver stayed with us till staff arrived.

We stayed at Rivertrees just before Christmas before and after hiking in Arusha National Park. Our safari tour (Thomson Safari) arranged the stay for us as part of our trip. We were traveling with our two teenaged boys (13 and 15). As other reviewers have said, the property is beautiful with lovely outside dining and an evening fire pit, where... More

A perfect place to start the Safari. After a long journey flying, we arrived at Rivertrees and loved every minute of our stay. There were monkeys swinging from the trees, food was delicious, dinner & breakfast, staff were friendly and our room was perfect. We were just gutted to miss out on the pizza everyone was raving about.

Rivertrees is a piece of paradise before conquering Kili. The large property is covered in baobab and lush jungle and surrounded by a river. As I walked the property monkeys swing from trees. There is a lovely garden and massive lawn by the restaurant. The rooms very clean and comfortable. Decorated with African design. Baraka is sweet and very helpful.... More

When we arrived in Arusha our driver picked us up at the airport and we drove through the hustle and bustle of the city. When we turned off the main road we were transported into a different world. It was quiet, the grounds are lovely, the accommodations were fabulous, and the staff was wonderful to work with. We only stayed... More

During my recent travels to Arusha, I stayed in USA River for several days and had the fortunate advantage of being within walking distance to Rivertrees Country Inn. This restaurant / lodge was located next to a river with the most lush backdrop offering the sweet sounds of wildlife and exquisite birds to view while you enjoy a meal or... More

After 26 hours of travel from the US, Rivertrees was the perfect place to acclimate for a night before heading off into the bush for a week. Our secluded rooms ("Snail" & "Butterfly") backed up to a flowing jungle river offering great ambiance. The cabins had a back porch with sling chairs for snoozing. Beautiful grounds and lots of trails... More

Rivertrees Inn is located in a beautiful setting, under lush and green trees and - as the name suggests - next to a river. I've gone twice for lunch and enjoyed the food greatly on both occasions. We've tried the chicken sandwich, chicken salad, flatbread and pizza and everything has been really great quality and taste! The first time we... More

There is so much to do at Rivertrees it is a shame most guests just spend one night. We spent 4 nights, aside from the wonderful gardens to relax in you can go mountain biking, canoeing, do a cultural walk etc. birds are also plentiful, so we really advise taking full advantage of all these great activities, they are a... Solo traveller, stayed 2 nights in mid December, at tail end of the “short rains.” A mixed bag, as many of these places are. I’ve listed some of the pros and cons here. Keep in mind this is subjective: Your cons may not be the same as mine. The pros: • Quiet and peaceful, far enough from the main road... More
