The best part of our stay was a canoeing trip on Lake Duluti. This was great. This hotel has closed its swimming pool which is a big negative. After a day of hiking or Safari driving a dip in the pool in the evening is a big plus. We also requested 2- 20 minute massages and got charged for two... More

Like others, we were using Rivertrees as a springboard to other activities in Tanzania. It is set in a lovely park where monkeys swing through the trees above you. Hospitable staff and extremely comfortable rooms. Well worth taking the tour of the local coffee plantation, organised through the hotel. A peaceful place, in an attractive and useful location for your... More

Rivertrees was our first experience in Tanzania - a calm oasis away from the dust and bustle of Arusha, and just 30 mins from airport. Staff very friendly and helpful, willing to chat about life in Tanzania, education, politics. French management is very efficient and helpful. Great food and outdoor fires. Good wines, too. Open kitchen with smartly attired staff... More

Was there only one night (the first night we arrived before setting off for our safari holiday). So it was nice. Little cottages type. The lights went out tho and it was hard to take a shower via torchlight. Happens I know but it was the only place throughout our trip we had to do that. There's free wifi in... More

My friend Ricardo and I started our great Tanzanian/Kenyan safari landing in Kilimanjaro airport, from where we were taken to this beautiful oasis of peace, tranquility and impeccable service. The hotel is in perfect harmony with the surrounding nature. The gardens are gorgeous and there is a huge amount of wildlife to be seen there. We managed to spot some... More

We were fortunate enough to stay two nights at this wonderful lodge. It was the beginning of our Safari in Tanzania. We were celebrating our 37th wedding anniversary, and the staff went out of their way to make it a special occasion. There were 37 roses in our room, and they made us a special anniversary cake. We enjoyed the... More

Our safari schedule called for an arrival at the Rivertrees Inn in the late evening, then up early the next morning to being the safari -- since we are from the "better safe than sorry" school of travel, we scheduled our arrival a day early to give us time to adjust to the time change and be ready to start... We chose Rivertrees as a setting for our wedding. We had the ceremony in the magnificent gardens followed by a cocktail and dinner under the stars. It rained until about an hour before the ceremony and all the decorations had to be set up last minute. The staff did an incredible job making everything perfect and it turned out to... More

Picked up at Kilimanjaro Airport after a long flight. Then was taken to River trees to recover. A perfect spot to rest. for an Africa Safari trip to the Serengeti for a two week adventure. Every single room on this property is placed in an awesome location.

Rivertrees is close to Arusha, but far enough away to be out of the hustle and bustle which can become a little wearing. We received a warm welcome here when we arrived earlier than expected, late morning. We chilled in the afternoon, and enjoyed the gardens although they are not as extensive as previous descriptions had led us to believe.... More
