After a 5 day Safari, we arrived at this hotel for a short break before a 06:00 AM flight from Kilimanjaro airport. As we got to the hotel, our booking, made threw "Hotels.com" was not found. After a few phone calls, the voucher was found but there was no vacancy. The hotel staff tried to send us on its expense... More

The hotel is in a nice quite neighbourhood with ample parking. There is construction on-going but it did not get in our way. we barely noticed it. The staff is friendly. The rooms are spacious but the carpet in our room needed cleaning and airing. The bathrooms are clean and spacious.

SG Resort was included as part of our Kilimanjaro climb, both the night before and night after our trek.As others have noted, there are nicer rooms in the remodeled part of the hotel. Everyone we talked to was in the newer rooms. Our rooms were spacious and had up to date furnishings. There are still some aspects that need attention,... More

Stayed here the night before and night after our Kilimanjaro trek so were glad to see there was running water and a comfortable bed. Overall this hotel is very modern with nice amenities and room finishings. Only issue was a couple of things in the room construction seemed a bit off like the one night the toilet wasn't bolted well... More

The hotel has been built behind some other buildings on the main road through Arusha (not sure if they are related to the hotel or not). Some of the facilities are already present in good order such as the bar area and reception with good WiFi. However, there were still building works ongoing and the newness of the hotel becomes... If you are traveling in Tanzania and make your way to Arusha in need of a place to stay, I can recommend SG Resort Hotel. The rooms are accommodating and they have a nice restaurant and full service bar with plenty of open space. The staff are ready to please and they provide WiFi and have computers in the lobby... When you drive into Arusha, the area is very poor. SG Resort is tucked away off the main road and is surprisingly quiet and pretty. The open air courtyard and front desk made for a really nice gathering area to meet our trekking group and guides. Wifi worked best in this area. It was free and better than any other... More

Stayed at this hotel for four nights before and after hiking and safari and I have to say this was a pretty disappointing experience. On the surface, this place looks very good but it is missing some very basics such as staff friendliness. Most disappointing of my experience at this hotel was when we returned from 7 days on the... The good: - Service was great (as everywhere I found in Tanzania) the people were helpful, accommodating, and always always friendly - Lobby / restaurant is nice, semi-good wifi, and seems pretty new - Food for dinner and breakfast was excellent, omelet station, and dinner menu is huge (but takes a while... not fast food:)) - Rooms are pretty modern... We stayed here while we were not climbing Kilimanjaro or on Safari with Climb Kili, and that company arranged for our stay at this location--we did not choose this particular hotel. A few pros and a longer lists of cons. Pros: The breakfast had a wide selection, and the restaurant wait staff was pleasant. We really enjoyed chatting with them.... More
