Stayed at this hotel for four nights before and after hiking and safari and I have to say this was a pretty disappointing experience. On the surface, this place looks very good but it is missing some very basics such as staff friendliness. Most disappointing of my experience at this hotel was when we returned from 7 days on the... The good: - Service was great (as everywhere I found in Tanzania) the people were helpful, accommodating, and always always friendly - Lobby / restaurant is nice, semi-good wifi, and seems pretty new - Food for dinner and breakfast was excellent, omelet station, and dinner menu is huge (but takes a while... not fast food:)) - Rooms are pretty modern... We stayed here while we were not climbing Kilimanjaro or on Safari with Climb Kili, and that company arranged for our stay at this location--we did not choose this particular hotel. A few pros and a longer lists of cons. Pros: The breakfast had a wide selection, and the restaurant wait staff was pleasant. We really enjoyed chatting with them.... More

Had a meeting to attend in Arusha area. Loved the space in the room and the lighting around the working table. Was on a full board. The bed was good too. The rooms are clean. The wiring in the room felt a bit off, sockets are far from the working areas. I couldn't use the tab as the water stopper... More

I had to spend five nights at this hotel when I had to cut my Kili climb short due to altitude sickness. I Had three separate rooms over my stay due to many problems. I do understand that comparing hotels in Arusha to other countries may not be fare. But, there are certain things you expect that this hotel doesn't... More

This is one of my nightmare hotels. The hotel looks modern but it turned out to have many faults. I spent my last night of a 2 week Kenya and Tanzania safari holiday in late Sept 2014. I was thinking to sleep around 8pm and got up at 3am for my early flight. Right after I checked in, I found... More

The location is convenient in the heart of Arusha. Except walking about wasn't encouraged. The city is very active and the noise carries. The staff is lovely and they try hard. The room is clean. It's conveniently located to downtown Arusha. If you are looking for a quick, clean, reasonable place to stay, I can suggest this. If you are... More

We spent 3 nights at the SG (which was the hotel booked by our tour operator) in between legs during our time in Tanzania. One night before going to Kilimanjaro, one night after, and one night between our Safari and a trip to Zanzibar. While there was nothing especially bad about the hotel, there was nothing exceptional either. We also... More

While the hotel is under construction, the renovated parts of the hotel is nice. We stayed 2 night prior to hiking Kilimanjaro and one night after, arranged by our outfitter. The rooms are modern with good amenities, however the front desk staff was not friendly and for most of one morning, we had no running water. I should add the... More

the rooms are beautifully designed and maintained. very comfortable beds. staff was helpful. the food was average but servers were very nice in the restaurant. Wi-Fi works very well in the lobby but not in all rooms. A very nice hotel for the money for a overnight stop on the road.
