On the way to Phnom Penh I had an layover in Phnom Penh. All I needed is inexpensive good room close to the airport and a breakfast in the morning. This was my first visit to Taiwan - no prior experience of 'course. My random pick from one of the search engines on the Internet was the City Suites Gateway.... More

This hotel is basically for layovers only, does the job. Clean, decent rooms--not as fancy as the Novotel up the street--but it's a stones throw from the airport, significantly cheaper and still more than adequate. If you're there, it's most likely just for a night anyways so a good money saving alternative. As others have noted, the location is dismal... More

The hotel is very close to the airport, but is in the middle of nowhere. The only place to go is a near by 7-11 which you have walked on a shoulder of a busy road to get to. It was quite scary having to do so at night as there is no street light and very dark on that... More

Decent hotel but awful location. It's truly only good for layovers & proximity to airport. The hotel itself is decent: small but tidy room, limited breakfast buffet (mostly Chinese style dishes), polite front desk staff (albeit not very informative). Pros: Good free wifi in rooms & public spaces, free water dispenser on every floor. Cons: There is nowhere to walk... More

This is not a leasure/luxury hotel but it is a very convenient transit place to spend the night before flying out of Taoyuan. We took a cab there from the HSR, a bit pricy - about 300TWD if I remember right. A bit toasty during the night but manageable. The room is fairly small, I actually stubbed my toe badly... More

This hotel was less than 10 minutes away from the airport, which was much appreciated after a 13-hr flight. Only stayed here for 1 night. The room was rather small and had a king bed even though we had requested 2 twins. No issues with room cleanliness etc. The breakfast wasn't my favorite but had a decent selection of cereals,... We got an early flight deal because we had a flight that leaves at before 8am, so we stayed at quite a bargain price just a bit less than 2000 NTD. We were also lucky enough to have been upgraded to an executive room, which was very spacious. The room was relatively clean and tidy, even though we didn't expect... More

Clean, comfortable, GREAT SHOWER and bathroom, excellent service, no changes in room costs (no extra charges!), Because the location is so convenient, it makes a stay there easy to use and then get to the airport at any hour. The staff was great! Restaurant food was not that great -- hot food was cold!

Disappointing last night in Taiwan. We chose this hotel as we wanted to relax the night before our flight. Taiwan doesn't have a train from Taipei to the airport, so we decided to stay nearby from the night before. The room was large but smelt bad and looked dirty, especially the carpet and walls. The breakfast was awful and surrounding area... More

Should've taken a picture of it, but you can't fit your left leg between the shower stall and commode; so get used to sitting at an angle. Funny they haven't fixed that for a nice hotel like this one. Nice big beds and high ceilings. Usual coffee and tea; free toothbrushes in bathroom. The staff were attentive and proactive; when...
