This hotel is located nearby to a few night markets (within 15 minutes taxi rides). The hotel itself is quite comfortable but the setting is a bit old fashioned. Room rates is reasonable. Walking distance to some nice Taiwanese cuisines.

Stayed just one night here. Very good, no complaints at all. Quick check in, very comfrtoable room, good bed and stable wifi. Breakfast was nice, tho coffee was average. Shower could have been stronger and the place is not stylish but on what counts, it is very good. Recommended. Oh, also well located for everything in the city - shopping,... More

We have stayed in this hotel for a whole week and we were absolutely happy with our choice. The hotel is conveniently located next to a BRT station from which you can take the bus quickly around town or catch a ride to the central train station. It is very easy to explore Taichung from the Evergreen Laurel Hotel and... More

Spent 3 awesome nights with family over new years. Room was huge with western decor. Room service food was excellent. Welcome fruits everyday. Free sauna. Kids play room with books and Xbox 360s. Small pool, but two squash courts and decent fitness. Staff are very helpful and friendly, especially concierge and bellhops, but front staff could use more smiles. Breakfast... More

Always want to try a Evergreen Hotel worldwide but very disappointed for my first stay. 1. Very ugly outlook. It seems all Evergreen Hotel/EVA Air property have a very odd facade, have they ever think about to find a better architect? 2. Very old fashion guest room. Maybe this is still okay for 3rd to 4th tier cities in Taichung,... More

I would say this is a good hotel for business travellers. Wifi is stable and complimentary. However, better wake up early if you want to avoid the crowd during breakfast time due to quite a lot of holiday tourists. Impressed by the thoughtful little gesture where they put stools next to the reception desk during your check-in/out to allow you... More

We just stayed for one night here on our way to the mountains of Central Taiwan. The hotel is clean and convenient, the bar in the entrance and the free drink are a nice touch. The room was quite big and had everything we needed. The breakfast wasn't good - big Chinese-style buffet with not very good, nor very fresh... More

Fresh fruits in the room, chocolate on the pillow, tea and coffee of different flavor everything in order, even a printer! On top of that, breakfast with lots of choices, welcome drink tickets that I didn't even use during the two days of my stay. Nor the amenities with lots of explore besides Sun and Moon Lake. Service was professional.

Very classic hotel with dark woods and long halls. Bell men getting the door and hailing cabs made for a great stay. Customer service at the front desk was 1st class and the rooms were very nice and clean. I would have scored an Excellent instead of a Very Good, but I am a fan of new style open concept... More

This will be my very last stay at the Evergreen Laurel Hotel in Taichung. These guys are totally clueless. Every year they co-host the Taichung Bike Week together with some other major hotels in Taichung. They got the most central location and are therefore sort of in the middle of it. The rooms are 25 years old and badly maintained.... More
