I stayed here for 3 nights, my first time in Kaoshiung. I was impressed by the beauty and comfort of the hotel and my room, as well as the excellent restaurants and facilities. The staff are all very professional and helpful. However, the hotel tends to "nickel and dime" everything extra, for example, if you use a computer in the... More

Stayed here many times. Very nice hotel and nice view. Also very good location. With department right next door (and can be accessed from lobby floor); this belongs to the same group to owns the hotel. The hotel is quite Taiwanese in terms of management although it is done very nicely. There are apparently more local patrons than foreigners. For... More

Traveling in the east for business this month, afte getting stuck at the Shanghai airport for 24 hours due to a UA delay out of SFO, this hotel was a welcome site. The last time I spent regular time at this hotel was 7 years ago. While the rooms were still clean and the beds comfortable. the rooms and bathrooms... More

I had very high expectations for this hotel. Last time I was in Kaohsiung, it was 7 years ago and it was considered the best hotel in Kaohsiung. The hotel is huge and has a lot of facilities and restaurants. But the rooms, although large, are quite outdated and because they have not been renovated since the opening, some things... More

I have stayed at the Grand Hi Lai twice over the last three years and I will stay there again before the year it is out. Location: The location is excellent, on top of a great department store (Hanshin). The taxi drivers recognise it. The department store has all the brands you need and a terrific foodcourt. Dining: I recommend... More

This hotel was one on our round trip. So we have no clue about facilities. Breakfast was great, with a big variety and enough. They are really taking care about hygienic as you can see the guys directy preparing are wearing sth before their mouth. The service is great, always friendly and very supportive. The rooms are spacious and clean,... More

I had a harbour view suite and it was very spacious and clean. The staff provided great service and were very accommodating. The restaurant at breakfast time was very busy and although there were many choices it didn't really appeal to me so I only had breakfast once, instead choosing to have a cappuccino each morning in the Lobby bar.... Super staff, good food, great views of the harbor. What's not to like? But the airport is a couple of hors away In Taipei. On the Shinkansen which is pretty nice. Nonetheless a great place with good food and service.

In order to access the lobby of the hotel you need to pass through a shopping centre which can be a bit annoying if you have lots of baggage. The rooms are good, tv choices fairly basic. We found the dining room a bit noisy. Great view from most rooms

This is a large bustling hotel filled with Chinese tourist and business people. The many restaurants serve a average food with poor service. The best thing that can be said about the hotel is the food and shopping mall which is very convenient.
