My family and I went to Kaohsiung for the New Yesr and stayed at the Grand Hai Lai Hotel for one night. This hotel is a true 5 star hotel, is very beautiful and grand. We check in after 3 pm but the rooms were not ready so they gave us some drinks coupons. We went back after dinner to... More

We went to Kaohsiung for the new year activities and stayed at this hotel'executive floor. The rooms are big and clean with a nice view. Friendly staff are always there for you. There are many cafes and local stores nearby and of course, tourists like the shopping mall right below the hotel.

I had taken a high sped train from Taipei for a wedding. There is free access from the MRT to this hotel via shuttle bus to the mall ride beside the hotel. The property is striking and has that royal feel of very old and established hotels. The décor is a fusion of Eastern art and Western palace-like chandeliers. The... More

Good location, clearly a hotel that was at the top of its game once but now down a notch and lacking some of the modern amenities we enjoyed elsewhere. Staff are a mixed bag; several are very friendly, others less so and, again, a step down from other hotels we stayed at on this trip. Breakfast on the 43rd floor... More

Told to be the No. 1 accomodation in Kaohsiung, we arrived at the ground floor sort of back door entrance leading into a shopping mall. The tour bus could not go up to the main entrance located at 3rd floor level. So we had to push our luggage through this back door entrance and through the shopping crouds... bit strange.... More

3rd visit in 2½ years. Same room as last visit, still running toilet despite telling them this last month. Breakfast is plentiful but a little bit noisy due to very few textiles in the restaurant. Also had the lunchbuffe in the same restaurant, many, many courses and probably heaven if you love crabs... Room is large and clean, chair at... More

Grand entrance and friendly staff welcome you the moment you enter the hotel. Finally Wifi is free in this hotel. The hotel is close to many department stores. The breakfast area is at 43rd floor. Wow! Remember to visit the Liuhe night market which is 10 mins from hotel to try Taiwanese exotic food.

Very large hotel with great view for rooms in higher floors... Used to be one of the tallest building of Taiwan. Has gym and nice outdoor pool... where you will need a cap though ☺️ Nice restaurants on the 45th floor : did try the Teppanyaki one and that was delicious with huge portions.

Grand Hi-Lai Hotel is one of the most foreign friendly hotels in Kaohsiung. Hotel is located at the harbour, less than half an hour drive from international airport. Not the cheapest but I would say it is well value to its price. Hotel staff speaks fluent English and service is very polite. This is especially true in hotel services whereas... More

From the check in to check out everything was a breeze and the front desk are superb quality of service with warm smiles to any guest. Room furnishing very classy with gold and old school feel. With the bathroom extremely comforting. Buffet has a wide selection of seafood and international fare to choose from. Guest can feel safe with them.
