What can I say!...fantastic hotel and well worth the money. The amenities are endless within the hotel. The pool is great on the 12th floor and open air. The bedroom (stayed in a quad room) was amazing size and great views out over the harbour (32nd floor). Plenty of staff on hand to support whatever you may need. The breakfast... More

A comfortable, clean hotel overlooking the harbour. The hotel is conveniently linked to a shopping centre & food court. It was an overnight stay & unfortunately could not explore anything else due to a sudden downpour. Overall, the rooms are large & comfortable, & warrant a re-visit. The buffet breakfast was good.

Loved the location, rooms are simply furnished, but the staff was well-trained. Would stay here again, but my only peeve would be the elevator transfers required. (Need to switch from room to breakfast floor) (Need to switch from room to 10th floor, then on 8th floor, ANOTHER elevator to access the shopping center from 1-8th floor)

I spent one night at the Grand Hi-Lai Hotel as part of a round-the-island tour of Taiwan. The hotel is in the middle of bustling Kaohsiung, and is attached to the fancy Hanshin department store. The hotel’s décor is deliberately old-fashioned, with marble floors and huge chandeliers in the lobby. But everything is efficient and up-to-date in this classically-styled facility.... More

A very nice hotel located in a great area of Kaohsiung. The staff is very nice and helpful, and the majority speak very good english. Breakfast on the top floor is always excellent but is commonly very crowded. We always met for drinks in the lounge area in the main lobby and the majority of night there was live music.... More

Been in this hotel many times over the last 10 years, the standard of service has been consistently kept very high. Great room comfort, excellent staff attitude and helpfulness. Outstanding selection of restaurants, a mention is deserved by the Lobster Bar and the japanese-style Teppanyaki at the 45th floor. Very good breakfast spread at the 43rd floor. Classic grand lobby... More

Huge hotel, best place to get a clean and safe massage is right across the street. I paid $80 U.S. Dollars for one hour foot massage followed by one hour back massage. Terrific value. Excellent high end shopping mall adjacent to hotel. Excellent concierge service, arranged for a three hour city tour and was very pleased.

The Grand Hai Lai is a classy hotel that takes care of its guests. If you ever have a need they will meet your expectations with total professionalism. The breakfast/dinner buffet at this hotel is first rate. The internet works with very good speed and no down time. The TV has many English speaking stations with movies. A very nice... More

Rooms were excellent - but not very large (this was made up for by one of the most comfortable beds of my travel thru Taiwan). The some what limited contact I had with staff was also excellent. Location is reasonably good in a down town area with a number of places to explore shop/eat within walking distance or simply stay... More
