The host, Rihang, is very friendly and helpful. He responded fast to E-mails prior to arrival, so everything was planned well, and he drove us to and from the train station. The lodge itself is in a calm and secluded place, which is ideal for relaxing. Rooms were clean and huge, and breakfast was served on the terrace infront of... More

Booked this on a second-hand recommendation, and showed up with seven more people than we planned on. Not a problem for Rihang, who went far, far out of his way to make sure we all had a great time. He worked around our schedule, brought in extra mattresses, and was the consummate host. He knew the best hiking spots and... More

I stayed at Taroko Lodge with my daughter last night. Rihang and his son Jin were so friendly, warm, and accommodating. Even before we arrived we found Rihang's email correspondence (in process of booking room, bikes, arranging arrival time, etc) to be very helpful. The bike rental and drop-off service in Taroko Park was greatly enjoyed by my daughter, and... More

We had some friends come in from the states and decided to check out the gorge. We found this place on trip advisor and decided to give it a shot. Rihang speaks some English but I think he is more comfortable email instead of phone calls. We showed up and Rihang was there to greet us and show us to... More

Made reservations with friends for a one night stay and we loved the place! The owner was so wonderfully accommodating, and the house with the rooms were lovely. Highly recommended. Much better than a typical hotel experience. We were the only people in the house, so we each had our own rooms and we were able to hang out and... More

We were a group 7 and booked out the main lodge. The setting is spectacular with a generous grass lawn, plenty of fauna, the picture perfect mountain in the backdrop. We were very specific with what we wanted to experience and asked plenty of questions regarding various Taroko offerings. Rihang was patient enough to explain everything. We spent 3 active... More

I went with my dad and we loved it. A bit pricey for the budget traveler but considering everything you get and comfortability its actually a great price. Small and beautiful little home. The owner(I forget his name sorry) his wife and son are so nice and accommodating. Nice, clean and very comfy beds with a big Taiwanese styled American/English... More

We stayed in a double room and it had all we needed. As budget travellers we first thought that 2000 ntd was a bit much per night, but we quickly changed our mind. Firstly, it includes breakfast and pick up from the train station. Secondly, the son drove us every day to a different local restaurant (once we went to... More

Ok rooms, but with a owner who is really friendly and takes you out to night markets and restaurants. He gives you the best bike/hike in the Taroko. He lets you off att the top and then you can glide down and stop and go for hikes. This was the most beautiful experience we had in Taiwan:)

We stayed here in our tents for 500 taiwan dollars a night each. We were allowed use of wifi, showers, toilets and power to charge up our electricals and this included breakfast. We also had him take us to the top of the gorge and cycle down. We left at 7.40am to do this to beat the crowds and the... More
