Part 1: Taroko Lodge PROS -very nice hosts -delicious homemade breakfast out on porch in the morning with the other guests -free transportation from Xincheng Station (and even after our train arrival times changed about 3 times, he was still there waiting for us! a big relief after a long day) -clean room, comfortable bed CONS -we did not have... I stayed for 2 nights at the lodge. Rooms are basic but clean, it feels like you're staying with family. Rihang, his wife and their son Jin will do everything to make you feel at home! Highly recommended. And the hike and bike is a must do!! Enjoy!

Stayed at the lodge for a night during my trip to Hualien, wished we had stay for a few more days. Meet some really lovely people from the Netherlands and Australia who were staying in the lodge too and at night, Jin would bring us all for dinner at a local restaurant. We did a hike and bike with them,... More

At the end of a long day's hiking, this is the perfect place to spend the night. The owner, Rihang Su, is so friendly and helpful, and the location is wonderfully peaceful. I had the self-contained cabin to myself and fell asleep to the sound of frogs croaking in the pond outside the window. Breakfast is freshly cooked and plentiful,... More

Stayed here 3 nights and did the Bike and Hike and Jhiliu Old Trail - best way to see the Gorge! If you are active and fairly confident on a bike (traffic does tend to pick up by the end of the day but often we had the road and views to ourselves) I can't imagine a better way to... More

What everyone has mentioned about Rihang is very true. He is very helpful and will do anything to make your stay comfortable. The lodge is basic but felt more like a comfy home. The breakfast was awesome, loved the banana crepe! At night Rihang will drive us to dining spots and stops at 7-11 for anything else you may need.... More

If you're interested in Taroko Gorge I'd say Taroko Lodge will suit your needs. Rihang is a lovely host - he really does his utmost to help. It will cost you to hire his bikes but, given that it comes with a 20 - 25km delivery to where you want to go in the Park - it's a pretty good... More

I stayed together with my girlfriend for 4 nights at the lodge and it was enough to explore the Taroko Park. The Lodge itself is cozy, rooms are clean and spacious. However if you look for luxurious space - this is not a hotel, this is a lodge. So if you know what to expect you will be fully satisfied.... More

We stayed for two days and received excellent service. Although Mr. Rihang is not a man of many words, he will do his very best to help you in any and every way possible. His Lodge is not located near any restaurants, but worry not, he will drive you to great local eateries when you like and to a kiosk... More

We were just there for a couple of days. We did the Taroko Gorge bike ride from the lodge, which was such a good time. But I wanted to post a review to say how much I appreciated staying with Rihang. He *really* went the extra mile to make sure we got the most out of our stay. We were... More
