The hotel is good, comfortable but not understand why the Le Meridien maintains a hotel at place as bad as Latakia. Latakia is a waste, nothing to do, nothing to see, the city is dirty, the beach is horrible. The hotel is far from everything and locomotion in Latakia complicated because the taxi drivers do not speak English. I hated... more

One of Latakia's best hotel, although it does not live even close to the western standards one might have in mind before traveling. On the plus side: spacious, cheap restaurant (main dishes between 5-8 USD), nice view from the rooms. On the minus side: Lots of loud noises in the hotel well up to 3-4am so no sleep for the... more

Compared with the disaster that was described as the Cham Palace Lattikia, this hotel wasn't so bad. After escaping the Cham Palace after one terrible night, we happily booked into this hotel. However, apparently it was almost full, so said the staff and we could only get a suite. However there were 5 of us in our family so that... more

Like going back in time . . . to the early 70's and stuck in a time warp! I don't think anything has been changed / updated since then. Nonetheless its not a bad hotel - its large and spacious with huge rooms and balconies and an impressive entrance lobby. The service was very adequate and polite with most staff... more

The hotel must have been lovely 20yrs ago but the place is now in need of a serious facelift, simple maintenance doesnt seem to be a priority there. The carpet in my room has not been shampooed since the day the hotel was built, there were all kinds of awful stains and grime. Bascially quite a let down, in comparison... more

Out of town with little atmosphere. Rooms OK. Service OK. In fact allround OK but nothing to stand out unless you want to be close to the beach. I wish I could have stayed closer to town. more

This was by far the worst hotel we stayed in during our entire stay in Syria. It was certainly not representative of the Le Meridien brand or the brochure images and was old and dated - in serious need of a refurbishment. It looks like this hotel is stuck in the 1970s. The rooms were aweful, the lobby area unappealing... more

we stayed at the end of may before the syrians turn up in their droves, june onwards. we reckoned that only about 12-20 of the rooms were occupied - it was like a ghost town! cost us about £80 per night for a comfortable large room with a sea view. the whole bay area was deserted and we had the... more

The staff here were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is a bit dated, but serviceable and the rooms were clean and quiet. The pool and beach facilities were not open in April; although may be nice in the height of Summer. more

The room was nice and clean, with a good sea view. There was an event one night which went on from 21.00 to 04.00, which was very loud. Ear plugs needed again. Quite empty in April. Food quite good. Don't forget that all bar bills etc can only be paid either by plastic, or in dollars or euro, and not... more
