Spent 2 nights in colombo before going down to the Beach Haven Guest House & what a fantastic welcome we had. This hotel is worth visiting, extremely clean from top to bottom, fresh clean sheets & towels and rooms are spotless. Our room was large with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was a lovely size. Wifi worked brilliantly. Breakfast was amazing. The staff... More

Room was the least clean during our month trip across Sri Lanka. Towel had holes in, sheets were grubby, various things splatted on walls. Positives: room a good size, plug in mosquito, upstairs room for all guests to use with fridge and cooking facilities. Wi fi decent but hotmail blocked which meant we had to find another venue to check... More

I'd like to thank the charming Mrs Wijenayake for her help this morning. Although the Beach Haven Guest House was full - they have a number of medical students there doing their electives, and it is always popular - she was kind enough, after a number of phone calls, to put me in touch with a sweet young couple who... We had a lovely stay at the guesthouse. The room was impeccably clean and, although in the middle of the Old Fort, very quiet. The air conditioning functioned very quiet and the mosquito nets were in great condition. The family and staff were very friendly and helpful without being overbearing. We enjoyed delicious, hearty breakfasts at the communal table and... More

Oddly 'the book' refers to this place as Mrs ND Wijenayake's Guesthouse. Not sure why the confusion. Anyhow, I recently spent 2 nights here. The owner was friendly and welcoming. My room was a reasonable size. Big bed with two single mattress'. One hard, one soft. A.C. Good wifi (for Sri Lanka). Was a bit on the darkside. Bathroom was... More

The location of the guest house is great, being in the heart of the fort, allowing easy access to meander around the lovely old town. We chose to stay in the cheapest room but still paid Rs 2500. The room itself was small and dark with a minimalist bathroom that smelled of drains! The bed was very uncomfortable and the... More

I had a room in the first floor at hroothe back. It was clean, new bathroom and hot shower. The aircon doesn't work well because water droped upon my luggage in nighttime and all was wet. The grandma is very nice to everybody and have some good informations. But 40$ booked with booking.com is a lot of money for it.... More

This guesthouse is ok, but overrated by lonely planet! Don't think they visited it recently... the first night we had a cheap room on the ground floor, in the back. This was so humid we decided to move to a more expensive one on the second floor. This was better, cleaner, newer. But the matrasses really need a replacement! They... More

We have installed cameras only externally as it is done even in other hotels. They have been done purely for security of our guests .Our premises are maintained purely within the scope and extent of a guest house in contrast to star hotels. It is inevitable that our guests have to be timely requested to put off the lights of... More

The location is very central in Galle and allows easy access to all parts of the city. The family who runs the business are very friendly and were kind to us in ordering a taxi to Mirissa - apart from a slight mishap with a leak in the bathroom (which has become a frequent occurrence in Sri Lanka), it was...
