The location of the guest house is great, being in the heart of the fort, allowing easy access to meander around the lovely old town. We chose to stay in the cheapest room but still paid Rs 2500. The room itself was small and dark with a minimalist bathroom that smelled of drains! The bed was very uncomfortable and the... More

I had a room in the first floor at hroothe back. It was clean, new bathroom and hot shower. The aircon doesn't work well because water droped upon my luggage in nighttime and all was wet. The grandma is very nice to everybody and have some good informations. But 40$ booked with booking.com is a lot of money for it.... More

This guesthouse is ok, but overrated by lonely planet! Don't think they visited it recently... the first night we had a cheap room on the ground floor, in the back. This was so humid we decided to move to a more expensive one on the second floor. This was better, cleaner, newer. But the matrasses really need a replacement! They... More

We have installed cameras only externally as it is done even in other hotels. They have been done purely for security of our guests .Our premises are maintained purely within the scope and extent of a guest house in contrast to star hotels. It is inevitable that our guests have to be timely requested to put off the lights of... More

The location is very central in Galle and allows easy access to all parts of the city. The family who runs the business are very friendly and were kind to us in ordering a taxi to Mirissa - apart from a slight mishap with a leak in the bathroom (which has become a frequent occurrence in Sri Lanka), it was... This place is in an excellent location and is well set up for those travelling on a budget. Cheap rooms, use of kitchen facilities, free tea and coffee. The family who own the guesthouse were friendly and honest. Comfy bed and hot shower too. My only criticism was that there were a lot of mosquitoes in my room (there is... More

Upon arriving at the guest house me and my companions were cheerfully greeted by Mrs. Goolagong and her staff. We were given an extremely nice room, very clean and great price. There is also a nice communal kitchen and people watching balcony. Perhaps the only concerning aspect of our stay was Mrs. Goolagong was obsessed with watching the countless cameras... More

This is nice looking guesthouse where we stayed three nights. At first we had a room ground level, totally in the back. This room was okay, but very humid so we went to an other, bit more expansive room for 3000 rp at the first floor (#5). This was a nice room, but the bathroom is a bit small. All... More

We stayed just one night as we were passing through Galle, and it was a memorable stay. The family room was large, with 2 double beds and had what I call 'proper' mosquito nets (with a rectangular shape, rather than going up to one central point) - the nets actually cover the whole area of the bed and don't squash... I stayed for 16 days in September my fourth visit to this helpful and friendly family. Nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are clean with mosquito nets over the beds and have hot and cold water showers. The breakfast is excellent taken round a large family table downstairs but there is also a sitting room upstairs for guests to... More
