Mrs Wijenayake and her family are lovely people. They were so friendly! Her daughter and son-in-law now run the place, but Mrs Wijenayake is still around and seems to like to talk to the guests too. It's just great to be able to meet local people and talk about Sri Lankan life. On the first evening we arrived a bit... more

From first floor to roof top there is a place to sit and enjoy the moment. Each room has a story in this oldest guest house of the Fort. See "Justice for peace" on the wall side and get in have a look. Best regards. more

Just back from an 8 week trip studying as a medical student at Teaching Hospital Karapitiya in Galle. I stayed at Beach Haven for the whole trip and had a fantastic time. The family are extremely helpful and made me feel very much at home. The rooms are clean, spacious and have en suite bathrooms. All rooms have fans and... more

We stayed here for 5 nights in February as part of touring Sri Lanka. Sita,Lalith and Salome were excellent hosts and gave us lots of valuable tips. We had an upstairs balcony room, which was quiet, although one night a mongoose ran across the roof, which was unexpectcted! We had breakfast each morning ,both Western style and also Sri lankan,... more

The rooms are light and airy, bathroom clean and with a good supply... more

This family run guest house provides a very warm welcome. The room was cheap and quite adequate. Ours had air con and was en-suite. There is a friendly atmosphere at Beach Haven. You share the family dining table with other guests for meals, which makes for a pleasant time. The Galle Fort area is interesting and easy to walk around.... more

Family-run guest house tucked inside Galle Fort, 2 mins walk from the Ramparts and 10 mins from Galle Town (bus & train stations). The family have been running the guest house for many years and their experience shows - you will feel very at home but with your own space if you want it. There is a lovely balcony to... more
