Illuketia proved to be everything the website shows and our perfect honeymoon destination. We loved the relaxed atmosphere and beautiful gardens. Watching the birds and other wildlife without having to leave your seat is amazing! The staff are attentive without being overpowering and the food.... wow. The simply-described 'rice and curry' has to be seen and tasted to be believed.... more

There seems to be some confusion between the Apa Villa in Illuketia and the one in Thalpe. I hope I can help clarify a little. We had booked to stay at Apa Villas Thalpe but sometime during our tour of Sri Lanka our agent changed the booking (without our knowledge) and booked us into Illuketia instead. Stayed here in June 2005 at the end of one of many trips to Sri Lanka and this oasis of peace is probably the best place in SL that I have stayed in - and I have stayed in a good many places in SL. This hotel is not to be confused with the Apa beach property. Illuketia is a... more

I can't recommend APA Villa highly enough. We just returned from our holiday in Sri Lanka which we finished up at APA Villas for a few days. The hotel was very quiet, there was only one other couple there for one night and they left so we had the place to ourselves. The rooms, which are suites, are beautifully decorated... more
