Staying in an Aman property is like no other hotel experience. From the cold towels offered and cool fruit drink when you step onto the verandah, to my 3 MUSTS!! when traveling, Hot water, big towels, and big robes for men. Aman hits all three of these out of the park. THATS WHY I STAY AT AMAN'S. The service, and... More

This is a beautifully restored colonial building, retaining the charm of yesteryear with many period features. This is not the typical design led Aman property but none the less provides all the comforts you would expect. The common areas are lovely especially the main Veranda for breakfast, formal afternoon tea or diner. The pool area is a place to unwind and there... More

A real delight to have high tea here. Make sure to book a place and keep room for the food and drink by having only a light lunch! Worth the pricey cost for the location and the old period decor alone - very well restored and maintained. great service and attentive and helpful staff too.

We didn't stay at the hotel but went in for drinks a few times. The place realy is very beautifual and the atmosphere is one of old colonial luxury and grandeur of days gone by. The porch is a beautiful place to sit down for a drink and watch life go by. The restaurant and lobby are very impressive and... More

After a beautiful walk around the Fort, my mom and I were starving. The manager of the hotel we were staying recommended us to have lunch at Amangalla's restaurant. Well, we had pasta with pure, succulent, and tasty sundried tomato sauce with basil, a delicious pumpking ravioli, garden salad and a kind of zucchini omelete (which they call "fritata", I... More

I visited Amangalla a few times a while ago and it's a beautiful place. Built in the colonial style, and furnished the same way. It is in incredibly peaceful, and stays cool even in the summer heat... I was told that the walls are stuffed with coconut fibre to keep the insides cool, but I don't know if that's fact... More

One of the best hotel experiences we've ever had. As soon as we stepped inside this wonderful building we felt like we had been whisked away to a grand yet homely sanctuary, full of character, in the midst of a bustling old town. There is a deep sense of history at the hotel and it maintains its connection with its... More

I believe this is my first 5 stars... and I have been in many top class hotels around the world. A problem with this place is... that after the experience any other hotel and service will appear poor! This is the risk. Incredible personal service, beautiful rooms and pool, good food. Some possible issues... the baranda area of the restaurant... More

It's obvious that this is not going to be an ordinary spa experience as you walk through the lush grounds of Amangalla, Asia's oldest hotel, en route to the spa. Once there you are immersed in a sense of calm and sereneness long before you sit down, cool off with a chilled scented towel and sip on a freshly-squeezed juice... More
